Partial line-up announcement on March 16th.
Who else is going this year?
I usually go to DEMF, but I haven't checked out Mutek yet, so I'd like to go this year.
I wonder what the line-up will be like... |

It used to be the last weekend of May (Last year was May 27th-31st), but I think it's now the first Weekend of June.
You can either pay-per-event, which can vary from $10-$55 dollars IIRC, or get various passes.
If you go for the entire week, want access to everything Mutek has to offer, the pass last year was $215
If you want just the weekend pass, it was $135
You can check out last years ticket-info to get an idea of the options available: linkage
It's pretty hard to hit up everything. The past two years I got the weekend pass, but ended up missing 1 or 2 events, and it didn't really end up in much/any savings.
If you are wanting to head down just to "party" and not that interested in the side-stuff/chin-stroke events, it's probably best to do a pay-per event and hit up the Piknik and Nocturns.
If you like the chin-stroke/sit and listen/art installation type things, I'd opt for the pass.
There is a pretty big nerdy-side to Mutek, which appeals to me - my favorite events from last year were not as party-oriented. But, they also know how to party and the Pikniks are a blast and the production put into he Nocturns is pretty top-notch.
Some of the events are pretty spread out, and it can take some time to get to/from each location -- if your hotel is far away, it can be hard to hit up everything - especially if you want to change cloths/freshen up between parties.
Trying to do an art installation, Piknik, A/V and Nocturn all in 1 day is pretty exhausting :P |

A Stereo visit is the only certainty of that weekend for me. :p |

didn't check out the other events, but had a blast at Piknik on the Saturday. I would love to go again this year if there is a half-decent lineup.
then again, I had never heard anyone before who was there and I really enjoyed Trus'me and Thomas Fehlmann's sets.
what a great venue when the weather is nice! |

| It's a definite possibility for me. I'd really like to head to Montreal again to finally see Stereo and this seems like as good a time as any to do it. |

| I don't think Mutek generally books the same artists two years in a row. One thing I tend to like about Mutek, is they tend to not always book 'the usual suspects' and get in some neat/new/interesting artists. As good as Villalobos is, there are other people I'd probably rather see. |

I'd be up for Mutek trip depending on funds after DEMF, as it's always been of an interest to me!
