Actor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose -- possibly accidental -- according to LAPD. He was 38.

Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4 AM PT to investigate.

Haim shot to fame in the 80s -- when he co-starred in a number of films, including "The Lost Boys" with Corey Feldman.

Haim reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and was rushed to UCLA Medical Center.

Haim also reportedly was in and out of rehab 15 times, but cleaned up in 2004 after moving to Toronto

Heard about it this morning. Lost boys was my favorite back in the day. It's a shame, he has been struggling his whole life.

it is very sad but at the same time
how many of his own friends lives did it take for him to realize that nothing good comes out of doing drugs?

I'm done even feeling 2 seconds of bad for these Hollywood fools that overdose and/or purposely kill themselves...

Not just him, and not just the drug problems... I live my life showing kindness and more appreciation toward the random everyday people around me that live productive lives, working hard, and doing the right things day after day, rather than even somewhat caring about all these famous rich people who seem to be dropping like flies lately this past year.

I'll go to the funeral of the owner of the local Chinese restaurant, or the NJ Transit drivers I see everyday who say hi to me, before I even think about clicking a link to read about the glorified life and time memoirs of the Heath Ledgers, DJ AMs, or Michael Jacksons..

Sorry if this upsets anyone haha.. These feelings in me came about late last year when it seemed like everyone was crying over one or another famous person dropping dead after an overdose..

Oh man... I got attacked by so many people last year when I said I didn't give a about Michael Jackson's death on facebook :o

I guess they are over it now lol :p
