Yea the main thing is to get that dry as as fast as possible and hope that it didn't reach that can oxidize quickly.

Also if you spill water on your laptop kill the power ASAP and rip the battery out even faster. The quicker the better as what will really you is if something shorts out, especially inside the drive (though those are sealed, at least fairly well).

I use my laptop in the bath all the time

as a soap holder

I accidentally knocked an entire glass of water onto my Powerbook about a month ago. First thing I did was turn it upside down to get all of the water out, then unplugged the power immediately and ripped the battery out. I spent the next hour or so doing everything I could to hold it upside down and let all of it drip out. Let it sit for just over a day and it ended up being fine.

i spilled orange juice on my husband's computer six months ago. we cleaned it up pretty quick and it is still working. i think at this point it will probably be ok. i think laptops are a little more spill proof than they used to be.

My Lenovo has a built in mechanism whereby if you spill liquid on the keyboard, it simply funnels out through the bottom.

Yet to test it out though :p

I have dropped 2 keyless remotes from my car in a toilet b4, and they still work to this day. I won't say why I was in the bathroom using my key though ;)

if you spill water on electronics, you're not supposed to try and turn it back on until it's dry. that's my only advice.
