| I have a pretty regular sleeping pattern. Most nights I go to bed at about 10:30pm, read for an hour or so, then sleep until about 6 or 7am. |

My grandpa has about the same pattern. Makes sense, now that you're close to his age. |

I usually go to bed around midnight on a weekday and wake up about 6:30am for work, though I've been trying to go to sleep at 11pm so I can get a solid 7 or more hours in.
My job is also rather flexible so if I really want to sleep in then I will.
The result from this is that I now seem to naturally wake up by 8am so if I go out on a Friday night, I'll usually wake up Saturday morning rather early as my body clock is used to waking up before 7am.
Apparently it's because I'm getting old. |

| Just to illustrate what i previously said about my sleeping patters...shrotly after posting the previous message i took a few pills then went to bed since i had a massive headache. Now its about 3 hours later and i just had my breakfast and am enjoying a cuop of coffee. Its also 3am. |

| My body seems to have adjusted itself to a 7-8.5 hour sleep. Recently I have been making a big effort to go to sleep early as I realized that depriving myself will do my no good in the long run. It's just not worth staying up till 1 anymore if I have to be up by 7 the following morning. I normally go to bed by 10:30 or so now and am up between 6:30 and 7:00. I'm still trying to figure out what the ultimate amount of sleep is for me but it's looking like roughly 8.5 hours. For example last night I went to sleep at 3, but was up by 10:30. So It's hard for me to stay asleep for long periods of time now, which I think is a good thing, as oversleeping is not only a waste of precious daytime hours, but has also shown to be very unhealthy, much like under sleeping. |
