The ultimate time waster. Just stay away from WoW. The rest aren't terrible compared to WoW.

I used to play Halo 2 for 8 hours a day in my freshman year of college. Shooters can be horribly addicting.

I got hooked on Call of Duty 4 BAD. It resulted in me canceling my subscription to xbox live as it had consumed my entire life.

The thing is, if I would rather play video games then make tunes, does that say something?? Should I maybe learn how to make video games instead??

I thought about making a mod, but to learn how to do everything would take a lot of time.

Yeh I'm kind of with Alanzo on this one.

I mean I worked 10 hour days at one point THEN would go to class afterwards, and still had time between 9-12 to sit down, and often those sessions would go all the way till 4 in the morning at points.

I find the most destructive force for me is not time but sleep. On days where I get 4 or 5 hours of sleep its near impossible for me to sit down and be creative, although there was nearly 2 years where I went producing 100% sleep deprived (and didn't advance much to be honest) but now the most important thing for me really is just sleep.

It has the same influence as alcohol, if I drink 4 beers my creativity goes bye bye like nothing else.

I also don't try to scrap my projects in less then an hour. Only because some of my "best produced" projects were ones I refused to give up on. It may not lock in the first hour but that doesn't mean to me it won't lock in the second hour either. Although I have also had projects literally just fall together too so its hard to say anything concrete.

I agree the most important aspect for production is sleep. I no longer drink either but I def notice on the nights where I don't get good REM sleep I can't do .

I would love to respond to all of you individually, but i dont have the time,... Lol.

were all in the same boat to a great extent. its tuff coz i train 'gym' when i get home which could be seen as a pointless activity i guess, but i love it too, when i could utalize that time in the arvos to do production. But, some very good points i have taken on board. I think at the end of the day there is no rush, just "enjoyment in involvement with such an art - music".

If there is will ther is a way,

its not a pointless activity if it benefits the human body in the long run.

Producing + DJing + girlfriend + eating + working out + working + sleeping = busy!!!

I try to balance the DJing and producing by dedicating myself to one or the other for a specific period of time. For instance, I've nearly finished two productions that I feel are 'good' tunes and which *should* be coming out soon and, so, I fully intend to focus on my DJing for a good while now as I have a number of gigs coming up.

:)

Nice, true, it may in fact help me live longer which therefore allows me to produce well into my 90's.

imagine myself or any of us for that matter pumping it out, house / trance / downtempo in your 90's.. yeah yeah
