Haha same here, I just relistened, and while the song is super cheesy and stupid, I dig it totally on nostalgia. in Dogzilla... I still dig a ton of horrible from that period, it's when I first got into all this stuff.

:p

Just curious to know why some people say looking back at music that they used to enjoy is horrible? I really dig that tune myself, but I just can't figure out for the life of me how someone can enjoy a tune at one point, then perhaps discover other forms or something new/different and turn around and have so much dislike for something that they once enjoyed.
It doesn't work like that for myself. I try to keep an opened mind for new stuff but I also still love the music that moved and inspired me in the past.:conf:

hey, don't be that cruel to the poor soul. that's not the first time i've seen someone thinking that had a male vocal.

You just blew my mind. How the hell does that sound like a male?

i don't think that, i've just seen a couple of others that has thought that it had a male vocal. i think it's due to merle forbes' (who sing on bullet in the gun) voice, she sings in a lower pitch than the most common rent-a-vocals and slightly lower than the fuller voice of kate cameron.

but it's not like it's nina simone or toni braxton who both clearly sing in a lower bassier voice, merle forbes has still quite a feminine voice. but ye, i remember a couple of others thinking that bullet in the gun was sung by a man.

Armin really needs to go back to this, with great male vocals to boot. That guitar riff kills me every time:

Because the majority of people are sheep, and they are embarrassed. All they want to pretend to like is what's popular at the moment and will denounce anything from the past that may cause them to cop some slack from someone else. Sheep, that's all they are.

Even though I've moved mostly to Prog and other types of house now, including (unbelievably) tech house, I still absolutely love the most cheesy uplifting tracks from years ago.

not to mention alot of male electronic vocalists use falsetto vocals.

Because people change and so do their tastes. There's a lot of from the past I still love and I'm not afraid to say it, but a lot of stuff I cringe at now because I can see it appealed to aspects of my teenage self I've simply outgrown.

For what it's worth, I'm planning on making a mix soon of balls-to-the-wall lazer trance from 8-10 years ago that I still love without irony or shame. The only reason I haven't done it yet is I have to go home and pull out a crate full of Maxi singles and unmixed compilations I haven't played in years.

I don't know if I would say I cringe. I might even sing along or nod my head, but Winamp would certainly never see any of my unicorn trance or happy hardcore favorites from back in the day. However, it influenced my tastes and I'm not ashamed to admit that I liked it.
