Quick update before we start recording more vocals over the weekend.

I've changed the feel of the track somewhat with some ducked housey chords, all been done before but it's the mood I was going for from the start.
i've put it in my soundclick player as I didn't want the SC page to get clogged up with a shedload of versions! :D |

The the bass could use a sub for a little boost
Im sorta picking up this hhat thats hitting with your bassdrum, take that out and see what happenes
Vocals could use reverb
More compression on the bass
Nice clap

Nice kick and bass, they sit well together. The vocals are sounding solid, but I do think they need a slight boost in volume.
The filtered break at 4.00 is cool, but it sounds quite empty. Have you considered placing some pads in? Or perhaps some arps could work well.
The whole track is sounding clean! I like how it's danceable all the way through. I'm looking forward to a finished version with hopefully some more FX.

Hey Owen thanks for listening again dude.
I should have made it clearer that this is still WAY unfinished. The break will have a ton more stuff in it. We've got a few softly spoken phrases to go in there, some piano, a few breakbeat style hits, FX, sweeps....... erm! I did toy with the idea of a pad in there as well but I don't want to deter from the impact of the saw pad in the drop.
Might be knocking on your door for some more mix critique when this is done properly.

Ooo, sounds like it's going to get a lot better.
And you're right, I really need to get knuckled down with my own work. I've been browsing the feedback sections way too much lately :p |
