2 things - park people and food

Yes I can already see the comments on this one coming if only the trolls mysteriously hadn't stopped trolling me.
Now the thread:
So first off I've noticed that in most forested parks there are "hovel homes" - is this where trolls come from?
I've been through a number of parks in this area and have noticed each park has at least 1 or two fort / shelters. I tend to look indepth when I go through a park, I'm not much of a total trail person I like to actually get into the thick of the parks sometimes.
So it is clear one was being used as a sleeping area - toilet paper still on a stick, another one was actually very crafty - actually surrounded as a sort of stick hovel - another had boards and sheet metal nailed to a fell tree (more of a kids fort)
So what to think of these... a year or two ago around one of these places it appeared someone was sleeping in the park but no sign today or recently.
Do these things exist in your area?
--------
Second.....
Ok squirrels aside but if you found a pizza a burger or an apple tree that appeared discarded would you take it - if you knew it was left there within the 12 hours? Even the apples on the apple tree? What about a squirrel or a ground hog that you saw a dog kill? What are your limits.. would you use any of the stuff. I'm not quite talking binning out the back of your favorite restaurant, but I'm leaving it at the point of fresh kill or food that was dumped but still as new.
---
Not exactly the club thread or the rational thread but I am currious if anyone here would eat or prepare the food. |

I feel sorry for “park people”. if only they’d had a kick-ass resume things could’ve been different.
why the would you eat a 12hr old burger? |

on-topic; i never like to admit this story, but at the papa john's across the street from my house, they sometimes leave extraneous pizzas outside their front door on a ledge when they close for the bums to fight over. it's located in a strip mall; d-res actually works there.
anyways, the place had just closed and i was walking with a buddy to the walgreen's (also located in the strip mall) and there were two piping hot, large pizzas just sitting there. one was a supreme, one was a pepperoni.. and... i took them both. lol! i was hungry. and broke at the time. and was relatively certain nobody ed with them.. i mean, they were still hot right. lololol.
and let me tell you they were delicious, and i'm still alive today. so william, i strongly urge you to pick up any food you find on the streets. i'm inclined to agree with you that the 5-second rule can extend to the 12-hour rule like you suggested |

| Does the five second rule also go for "a squirrel or a ground hog that you saw a dog kill?" |

What would you do with an apple tree? Furthermore, since when do pizza and/or burgers grow on trees? |

| Sounds like Ashley is looking into his future if he doesn't change his present course. Note to self add scavenged for food in local parks to my cv. |

because food isn’t grown through greed, it grows in bins! |

I'd gladly take a discarded apple tree if I found one |
