i told this story before.
one of my chinese friends who when he had recently immigrated to canada wasn't very well off.
So he would hunt animals for his food.
HE captured a racoon and ate it.
He also captured a turtle from the river and made a soup from it
This is in a pretty urban area, the capital of canada.
Kudos to him. Impressive show of survival skills. |

on-topic; i never like to admit this story, but at the papa john's across the street from my house, they sometimes leave extraneous pizzas outside their front door on a ledge when they close for the bums to fight over. it's located in a strip mall; d-res actually works there.
anyways, the place had just closed and i was walking with a buddy to the walgreen's (also located in the strip mall) and there were two piping hot, large pizzas just sitting there. one was a supreme, one was a pepperoni.. and... i took them both. lol! i was hungry. and broke at the time. and was relatively certain nobody ed with them.. i mean, they were still hot right. lololol.
and let me tell you they were delicious, and i'm still alive today. so william, i strongly urge you to pick up any food you find on the streets. i'm inclined to agree with you that the 5-second rule can extend to the 12-hour rule like you suggested |
hahah ive done something like this. i was with a few friends bar hopping in the city, and we were piss drunk and walking back to my girl's apartment. Then out of nowhere these homeless advocates were running down the street with shopping carts full of hot pizzas, and giving them out to the homeless only it was getting late and they didnt give them all out so they offered us two pies and as you said they were still hot. so i figured why the not, im drunk and i was probably going to go out for pizza anyway lol. free pizza rocks, esp if you're drunk. |

What about people giving away rabits and pot belly pigs, fair game, or should you atleast tell them you intend to eat them rather than have them as a pet? |
