I prefer someone I consider my equal, not some sniveling little bitch who will yield to my every whim. If birds of a feather flock together, what does that say about a person who chooses to surround themselves with inferiors? |
And that is what makes boring and ultimately inevitable to maintain.
Equal? Positive attracts negative, a basic concept of this world. |

But you are going to step over the line that society draws where it attempts to protect its children from exploitation from adults because in most civilised countries we've progressed from the point that just because 'they can' doesn't mean 'they should'
Otherwise if it wasn't about a number, kids would still be sent up chimneys and into coal mines to suffocate and die, drafted into the military and sex industries like they used to.
There is a bloody number for a bloody good reason, its there to protect THEM and not about what YOU like. |
Whoa, whoa... hold on there for a second: I'm talking about girls that are way past puberty :conf:

I would largely say the same of North America as well, though there have been many movements in the US at least within the last century or so to combat this in numerous ways. It's a difficult thing to answer from the inside looking out, but it seems to me that a specific attraction to younger people of either sex (discounting pedophilia, we're not talking that young) marks a concurrent phenomenon for linear sexual control over one's partner, as it seems general knowledge that younger people are typically more naive, innocent, more pliable to the whims of exploitation. I am not saying this is a bad thing per se, it is merely a thing. Respect for either sex is a socially ingrained phenomenon as well, ever since it became not ok to beat any pretty lady you see in the street and drag her back to your cave by her hair. I know, men got shafted pretty bad there, huh?
Though it seems to me that descendant latin culture is particularly paternalistic - like the man of the house is to be respected as breadwinner and generally sole decision-maker, everyone else under his roof is basically there to serve him. By no means am I implying this does not exist in North America, but the downplaying of the male through numerous extraneous historical and social clashes/events could have very possibly lead to a very distinctive shift in sexual objectivity along with it - the prominence of women as individuals and decision-makers, along with it the merits of which could be basically post-Freudian interpretations on what values to see in the opposite sex. Thoughts? |
Hmm... I'd say this is ubiquitous in Brazilian culture and this is all too familiar to me: that's how my parents think, even though my mother decided to pursue her career in her late forties. Actually, my girlfriend is more paternalistic than I am (and that's got nothing to do with her Japanese heritage, she's also way more Catholic than I could ever be, even though I kept her out of church, for better or for worse), and she likes the traditional perspective more than my egalitarian raves :p
Within this world-view, the reason why older men should prefer younger women is because it secures the man's position as the breadwinner, though we jestingly say in urban areas that it's the woman that rules the house (and the man once he's in), which gives her the role of decision-maker in the household. I don't think this holds true in rural areas and in small towns, however.
Nevertheless, the fact is that we're slowly following the advances made in North America and Western Europe: whatever holds true up there is also present in urban areas here in Brazil. It's not unusual to see couples with an age difference nowadays in which the woman is older than the man - this was seldom the case in the previous century.
It's 5 AM and I'm writing a paper. I'll try to write something more intelligent tomorrow today after I get some sleep :D |

I like young girls because they are fresh and free of the past traumas that usually older women carry in their bag . that freshness in their character also reminds me of how I actually used to be , which in someway brings out some nostalgia .
I was dating a 20 year old last month , it was a very pleasant experience . |
