What a great solid machine of a mixer
But after a while it is really starting to annoy me that on cue you can not listen to the filters.
Why????

or is there a way and i do not know it yet?
Jarvmeister
Totally pissed me off too.

No way of doing it.

After using the mixer for a little over a year I'm kinda used to the sound i expect from the filters so it doesn't annoy me as much as it used to.

Totally agree though that it is a pain in the ass!

the worst is when you fade up a track without realizing the filter is on....

oops killed the bass :wtf:

That has happened more times than i'd like to admit.

I do sometimes find it handy though when the filter can't be heard over the headphones as i can still make sure my mix is tight while i start reducing the filter live..

Yeah it sux, but i still love my xone 32

The frequency control for the VCF should be on a crossfader like the 32 - visually, it's much easier to recall what the filter will sound like at any given point along the line. Guess they tried to implement it with the 42 by allowing you to assign the master cf to either cf or the filter, but switching back and forth would be a hassle, methinks.

Love the crossfade for the VCF on the 32 - so much better than rotary, especially when playing jacking Techno and House. The *only* thing I would change on the 32 would be to remove those stupid elongated studio fader knobs and replace them with some nice, flat rubber ones. Oh yeah, that, a sharper cut on the cf and an effects return. And I already mentioned in a couple of other threads about upgrading the stock cf to a P&G.

Then it would really kick butt.
