You’re making the fundamental mistake of blaming DRM for piracy, when you should be blaming piracy for DRM.

Piracy has already killed PC gaming. When all im getting is console-quality titles with better graphics/controls (and that’s if im lucky) then PC gaming is already dead.

But DRM never hurts pirates, it only hurts the actual buyers. I understand that the developers of games think that DRM stops pirates but it doesn't, it simply gives the crackers out there a new goal, something harder to test their skills.
To say that piracy has killed PC gaming when big name games these days sell a good million or so (ok I just based that number of the sales from the STALKER series, feel free to show me how poor COD:MW2 did on PC) is ludicrous.

where did i say that it did? (and actually there are examples of DRM that have hurt pirates, such as starforce, some games taking months and months to crack). im simply stating that rampant piracy has caused more and more intrusive forms of DRM.

Again, you guys have every right to think I am an "agent" because I cannot prove otherwise.

The only way this survey can be used by authorities is if the survey service gave away the data. That is unlikely because they are violating their terms in the first place.

I am genuinely interested in the topic i started and I need data to make a conclusion about it.

Right now I could make a viable one based on the answers you posted. The more participants the clearer the results.

I am not working for an agency, for the author, for the service or the illuminati. :)

Here is the survey again (shameless plug) : http://esurveyspro.com/Survey.aspx?...9b-cd573432e3dd

Exactly.

One of the main reasons I pirate movies/music is to see if they're any good. If they are there's a 80% chance I'll buy their albums and/or merchandise.

What I mostly "pirate" though, is series. But again, if I like them I'll buy the dvds when they are released/avail for preorder.

One thing I really dislike is how much more convenient it is to d/l a DVD- or BR-rip compared to buying one in a store and have to sit and watch unskippable "You wouldn't steal a car..." and previews to other movies I have no interest in.
I ing paid for it, why do I have to sit and watch that when I can watch the same movie for free without bing accused of being a criminal.
And yes I would steal the person who thought up with that s car, purse, tv and album. him/her.
