I put this up in another forum and didnt know that there was a UK forum until someone told me. Apologies for those who have already seen this already . . . .
Im planning to study abroad in UK within a few years. Im transferring from Virginia Tech studying electrical engineering and I need some advice on choice of schools.
Of course, being american, i dont know anything about these schools other than what the secretaries can tell me from their books and what do they know?
These are the schools (too bad I couldnt find any Dutch schools):
Nottingham Trent
University of Sunderland
University of Wales Swansea
University of Central Lancashire
University of Huddersfield
University of Plymouth
University of Salford (this one sounds good maybe)
University of Ulster
In your opinion, which school do you know has the better reputation for my major, has the hottest babes, closest to the bangin clubs (ie: gatecrasher), doesn't hate americans . . . . .and oh yea, has the hottest babes. Im pretty psyched about this opportunity and hopefully these schools arent too dorky.
I know i prolly got my priorities mixed up but you know what im talking about.
Thanks. |

well salford is a laod of hype, theyve spent a lot of money into advertising campaigns for that uni, wether or not it is good is another matter. you dont wanna go to sunderland, because the place is full of mackems and the north east is (i live in the norht eats, i shud know :() plymouth is miles from anywhere good, id say lancs or huddersfield, and maybe salford if it is actually any good. coz theyre all centeral and in good places in the country. but of cpourse i never pick a uni on its academic credentials. the real reason behind my desicions is revealed when i say im most likely going to sheffield uni next year :stongue:
edit: i just saw nottingham, id go there its the closest to gatecrasher out of all them! :D |

| Well i am currently just about to start my final year at the university of huddersfield and i think its a sound university. I gotta mate who goes to salford and he reckons there is this club nearby called infinity which is quite good. I read in FHM (Mens Magazine) a while back that the University of Nottingham had the best male to female ratio for a university in the uk, if my memory serves me correctly it was like for every one male there are four birds. Its late and i cannot be bothered to talk much about it, pm me if u want more info about the university of huddersfield! |

The ratio at nottingham, female to male, is 4:1 :D
also it came in the top 10 of the best uni's in the country, plus there's media in derby, that renaissance place (bit proggy), and Passion just south near leicester :) |

| Nottingham is a great university, and also a great place to live. When i apply in december, Nottingham will be one of the uni's that i will be applying for. It has a good reputation, its a good place to live, when i went to nottingham there were lots of fit birds about, and there are lots of great clubs. ie. Hotdog, and reasonably close to Gatecrasher :D |

| Nottingham was also like in the top 3 of the most applied for Unis last year, pretty difficult to get in me thinks, but worth trying definately. |

| Well a lot of people have been talking about Nottingham Uni in here as apposed to Trent that u said. My brother was at Trent for 3 years so i saw a lot of it as well as Nottingham itself and id highly recommend that to you. Out of the others suggested the only other one id be tempted by is Salford really, but that dont come close to Nottingham ;) |

Go for Nottingham mate, I know about 8 people who I used to go to school with who are there, and when they come back for holidays and I see them in the local where my lot drink, they tell me how wicked it is there, its a very studentish city aswell I've heard.
Salford - I wouldn't Manchesters got some parts but its got some of the poorest area's in the UK and very high crime rates in some areas. |
