Texture.

Transformation of sound.
mfitterer1
Arrangement, attention to detail; and originality.
asdfg
not finishing anything
Eric J
Engineering and a sense of what works on a dance floor.
Nightshift
I feel that mine are arrangement, anticipation, overall feel/atmosphere, and grooves.

Let me know if I'm wrong though ;)

My weaknesses that I find are mainly inconsistancies in sound design and sound quality which is what I have been working at.

i think i am best at sound design and texture, horrible at arrangement, i'm so bad at arrangement i refer to my songs as loops...because thats all they are, but very good loops i might add, one more strength i think is my abiility to leave my genra

I think my best ability is to take in what I have learned over the last few years and use it to make what I like to listen too.Other than that, I think im good at making a good old sounding track that is simple and to the point. You know, none of this generic sounding nonsense:D

Sound matching is my biggest strength. I have a knack for being able to replicate sounds given the proper tools, and find songs with similar qualities. (I'm learning how to DJ because of the latter part)

Harmonies would be strength #2. (Cellist for 10+ years)
d_Verge
Ability to think outside the box, disregard trends, and knowing when to ditch a particular sound/element in a track(and pick the right sounds in the first place).

Grrrr this thread makes me so jelaous!

my biggest strength is grit and overall anger towards myself. the reason you suck is mostly because of yourself, so either punch yourself because you're angry at yourself, or do somethig about it. I chose the latter. i think i'm also good at FX placement.

my biggest weakness is arrangement and EQing but i think i suck at cutting because im producing on broken speakers.

I do think grit will get you farther as a producer. grit will get you far in what you want to become in general imo. You have to have the patience and grit to tell yourself "ok the last 50 attempts at a song were futile, the next one is going to be a good one"
