I have a feeling that most people not getting this have never been in that serious of a relationship. Live with someone for a few years, or date them for like 4-5, or be married & divorced, then you'll get it. Life at 21-22 is a lot different than life at 28-30. |

True, but it just seems a waste of time (and hurtful feelings wise) to go back to someone whom you've failed with relationship-wise. I never talk to my exes, even if we ended on friendly terms, because it just seems like a waste of time. |

I've seen these re-encounters lead to successful marriages (so far) quite a few times. |

i'd be willing to say that the ex portion is more important. but there are a few rare cases when the original reason you were with them is more important. |
