Thats if anyone else actually uses Battery 3 :p
Why is it that when i click on the cells in battery that the sample playback is pretty instantaneous but when i audition stuff in the battery preview browser there is a noticeable lag???
My latency is set to 256 samples so latency shouldnt be a problem? If i preview files in the ableton browser its instantaneous as well
Also the disk overload light isnt flashing so i dont think its a problem of streaming from the disk
anyone got any ideas? |

| I don't know - I have never noticed that myself. I'll take a look when I get home tomorrow evening and post back here what I find. I use Win XP SP3. |

Thanks guys but surprise surprise it looks like yet another Battery bug in 3.06  NI forum
I dont know why i bother updating, every time i do i end up going back to 3.01
Worst thing is it appears there are problems with opening sets that use 3.06 with an older version
wouldnt advise anyone to upgrade to 3.06 unless they really have to |

Battery 3 is buggy as - at least 3.06 actually aloows individual cell volumes on mac (every previous version didn't let you :wtf: )
I just wish there was somthing else that had it's functions and layout. |

There is a version 3.1 coming soon - maybe that will fix the browser audition problem. |

| I have just checked in my DAW and Battery 3.04 does not exhibit any delay when auditioning via the browser. It is instant. |

Hmmmm...that makes me think it's a trasfer issue from the external drive EVO8. Try importing a few smaples to you native (internal drive) and previewing in the browser. If there's no delay then it's a disk retreival speed issue.
By the way does anyone have templates they always use for battery routing....just curoius to see how other peopl do it? |

| This makes me curious. I'm still using Battery 2 because long ago when I tried out Battery 3, I recall being disgusted because they removed the audition sample via windows browser entirely. Was this added back in with later versions or has it been there the entire time? The other thing that prevented me from using Battery 3 is I could no longer drag and drop the samples I was auditioning from a windows browser into cells like you could in Battery 2. Is this now possible by chance? |

| The browser has always been in B3 to my knowledge. I don't tend to use it as I have Sonar 8.5.3 Producer Edition which has a browser bar and audition tab option so I tend to use that. |

| I refuse to use any NI products... they've all perpetually crashed and been buggy. They seem to get worse with every update and when they do work (for a brief moment in time) they're such cpu hogs. I ditched battery 2 and started using RMIV. |
