Next time don't bother posting an event. The reason why you posted was so you don't make an ass of yourself in front of the club management. If it were not for the T.A'S your event would have flopped. Oh and for your info with regards to passing on the information that was given to you. Actually, the reason I posted the event was because I was helping a good friend who happened to be the one that booked MIKE and setup the event. It really makes no difference to me if nobody showed up. But I enjoy reading your conspiracies. Keep up the good work. |

Where the hell else is a promoter supposed to place advertisements for trance events in Toronto?
Hes posting not to make an ass of himself to the managment? I doubt the management even gives a about this forum in the first place. Its Luxy for christ's sake, this is the last place they'd be looking.
Don't even start getting all high and mighty about the TAs. Mike push comes to Toronto and you're bitching? TAs saved the event? Sounds like the people who came enjoyed their time at the club watching one of the brightest minds behind trance. If anything you should be happy you were able to get in for free (because of the promoter here) and they even posted the add here. This is what the the forum is for. Wow.
went down and it was moved out of Circa because of dumb ass club politics and moved to Vaughn, if you didn't want to come then you didn't have to. I can't believe you're complaining this much about a little tiff with the management.
Do us all a favour and next time don't come to an event when someone comes onto the forum and advertises it here. That way you don't have to "save" and events.
Get a clue. |

Even he had issues coming into the club and he got us all in for free I wouldn't pointing fingers too much Ang.
We all saw a big name dj for FREE. I have no complaints about the night save for having him play for a bit longer and getting the other djs shorter time slots...especially considering this was a reg club and not one that closes at 2:30/3am.
Everything else about the crowd and the venue etc is expected. Look where we were? What did you think the place would be like?
Strange world! Saved the night. Everything else was just ok, the vocal stuff wasn't too impressive but the rest was cool. |

So, I was actually really curious about what Luxy was like, since I heard the layout of the club was really nice. Got there late (since I had to work late and was DEAD tired, booo for having to pay cover!!) and walked into music slamming into me from 2 different rooms...one was an old euro trackand the other was some hip hop song. Cringe. Walking into the main room was...well there are no words to describe. I felt like I was walking into a massive store holding a garage sale that was selling a bunch of decorative and neon items from assorted clubs in the 90s that have all shut down. Honestly this place looked like they were discussing themes and couldn't pick one, so they went with ALL of them. Massive metal palm trees with neon orange lights, a gold sabre tooth tiger statue thing with its mouth gaping open, outer space painted on the ceiling near coat check, and various BRIGHT neon paintings in weird picture frams around the club. My personal favourite was the massive golden statue of an intense looking ancient warrior watching over the dance floor.
Anyways, chilled at the back for awhile while Danny D did his thing. Played what you would expect (Calabria, Akon, Cascada, etc.) but hey, that's what that crowd wants to hear. Close to when M.I.K.E. was SUPPOSED to come on we took over the front area and chilled there (sidenote: wtf is up with there being couches like smack in the middle of the dancefloor? Like, really??). M.I.K.E. came on very late, I'm assuming it was because he was supposed to start at 1 but the people of Luxy knew he wouldn't be what the drinking crowd wants to hear, so they kept Danny on as close to last call as possible. Anyways, the club was still pretty full when he came on. Within about 20 minutes I turned around again and it was pretty much just us, most people had cleared out. Good riddance. I really enjoyed M.I.K.E.'s set, or what we got the chance to hear. He definitely didn't have anywhere near enough time to work with. He played a bit too vocal at the start of his set, but definitely got more serious ashe progressed. :D Lots of nice melodies. Closed with STRANGE WORLD, whaaaaaat!!!! The one track I was dying to hear, thanks for choosing that one over Universal Nation. :) Can't wait to see him again in the future in a proper venue!!! |

Yeah if it were not for the 25 or so T.A's the place would have been empty. So who is it that makes the party??? yeah the people that take their time to go to these things. You think if they booked anothr dj that they would go? I am pretty sure that if you almost wasted your time that you would have been pissed off as well. Further more I said the T.A's saved that event not me alone so learn how to ing read. |
