Club Espanol on St-Laurent, amazing Spanish food. It's the Spanish club house, so it's not really a resto but they serve great tapas, fish, and paella on friday and saturday nights. Highly recommended..

Also a great place to watch World Cup games, my buddy's Spanish and we went to see Spain-Italy 2 years ago, great atmosphere.

Marven's in Parc-Ex is really good and cheap. Mostly greek food, grilled steak and calamari...so good

Pho Bang New York on st-laurent is real good too, you can eat for less than 10$ with tea.

Best thai food is in the Concordia building, not sure but think the name is Bangkok.Pad thai is delicious

Boucherie de Paris, just next to Université de Montréal. Best 5$ sandwich in town

few comments:

Taib is ok, but doesn't match the ones I posted.

boustan??? ewwwwwww

Marvin is fine except when you find cockroach in your salad, Tripoli a block to the south is a much much better choice.

I'll update the list in a short bit.

terrible decoration inside but best taste: an institution in centre-sud

I know most of these Viet restaurants are cheap but these two are pretty good and different and they are not in Laval ;-)

Oooh we needed a thread like this. Shall contribute.

One thing that is missing, however, is bagels. For that I would like to nominate Cote Saint Luc Bagel at 5757 Caldwell Avenue in Cote Saint Luc!
