| quote: | As of May 1, anyone wanting to visit Cuba must buy their own health insurance coverage. The Cuban government added that medical insurance policies purchased abroad must be from insurance companies recognized in Cuba. It also states that sales points will be established at points of entrance to the country for purchase from Cuban companies.
Cuban nationals who are returning to the country must also have insurance coverage in place.
Cubas healthcare system is known to be strong and is provided for free to Cuban citizens and at low costs to foreigners. However, the island nation has been hit hard by the recession and according to some, these new mandatory insurance requirements may be a way to boost its financial reserves.
In 2009, Cuba welcomed 2.4 million visitors. |
for all of us commie lovers, do not forget to purchase one before leaving for Cuba. |

There are some strong rumors out there as well that US companies won't be on the list.
As an industry insider we are looking at what it means for our contracts/members. |

Cuban government is starting to take advantage of our Canadian kindness. We alone helped them survive BIG TIME with our tourists, business and money, they should be thankful, after the Russians left them (cat blame them though).
Cuba needs to take a chill pill, as long as Le Embargo is still in place, they outta not raise the bar too high. I havent been to Cuba myself, though I heard they have lots of great antique Soviet cars - I wanna check that out. :eyes:
... and the beaches.
Everyone who visited Cuba - good thoughts? Any specific resorts / places to go? I feel like doing some scuba diving. |

the rich always take care of themselves. In communist societies the rich are a small group of self appointed important people who do whatever they please in the name of society as a whole.
In Ontario we call these people unions LOL |

its not about paying a tourist's health care. Its about "pre approved" health care.
Ie) companies that pay off the government, or government supplied policies. A very socialist policy.
The proper way to go would be like any other country. No health care plan? We take cash or credit! |
