TORONTO (CBC) - The Toronto Transit Commission's reputation suffered another blow Wednesday as police said they will charge a TTC driver with assault in an incident involving an 18-year-old male passenger.
Facing assault charges is 30-year-old driver Hagos Bereket.
Police say that at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, the driver and passenger got into a fare dispute aboard a westbound Lawrence Avenue West bus near Bayview Avenue.
Police say a window on the bus was broken in the incident and that the victim received non life-threatening injuries. |

| ill stick to the car, the only time i get assaulted there is when i accidentally subject my ears to the radio LOL |

I used to live in suburbia...commuted for five years for an hour each direction every day. Now Im a carless TTCer... it`s really not so bad - and with the inconvenience of downtown traffic, parking, pedestrians... much less stress. |

im just not a fan of taking 2 hours to do a half hour trip though.
if there was regular train service and extensive subways and decent night service id gladly take transit. |

I guess it really does depend on your start and end-points. I will totally admit it takes a lot more pre-planning if you have a list of errands. |
