Wow, have you guys ever been to NYC? trust me, you guys have it GOOD up there. |
nyc attitude is different though. its hard to explain but toronto attitude is very non interactive and cold whereas new yorkers will either love you or tell you to off or both! LOL
im a person who respects directness and straight forwardness even when i dont like the answer, which def makes toronto the wrong place for me LOL |

ohhh no, my friend! If it were only that simple. Maybe out-of-towners see it that way because of their brief experiences or movies ("oh New York is so REAL and just tell it how it is!!")
^^while this is certainly true, there is so much more to NYC attitude.
Being real is not constant, everyday, intentional rudeness. Rude, attitudey, and incsonsiderate people (for no reason at all) is not being REAL, its being an a$$hole. And when you see it EVERYday, its gets :whip: :whip:
I will invite you to one of the NYTA "What I hate about the subway" or "what I hate about Manhattan people" threads when they pop back up...... |

but it's not :)
maybe if you walked more and took your car less, you'd notice that Torontonians are far from unfriendly |

ive walked around downtown quite a bit as i have elsewhere. Im sorry but the human interaction just isnt there. The only time anyone will say anything to u 99% of the time will be followed by, can u spare some change? |

yeah... one of the very few things I hate about toronto :(
Even I have become cold and snobbish to strangers
I want to move to Montreal... |
well, isn't your own behaviour, your own fault?
i don't know what this term refers to. never experienced it. |

I mean to each their own, but apart from abundance of bums downtown, everyone is fairly friendly
North York - not so much, then again I lived in the ghetto of the ghetto lol |

| hardcore torontonians never seem to "notice" and i think its because they are part of the problem. Its normal to them. |

| Funny...everyone who visits Toronto sais that the people are very nice compared to wherever they came from. |

I don't know about others, but I definitely notice people's hostility when I travel
in NYC you can literally feel the cold in the air
when I lived in Cyprus, people in the capital were incredibly snobbish as opposed to other towns, but generally everyone lost interest in you if you were not buying anything from them lol
when I visit my parents in Ukraine, everyone looks at you like a hungry wolf
Toronto is probably the only place anyone ever holds the door for others (accept the Asians, they are just plain rude everywhere) |

wtf!
We must live in different cities
or its our perceptions...
I come from a smaller city where everyone is overly nice and friendly. So moving here was a HUGE shock to me. I found this city very unfriendly - but I dont think its because its that people are mean, its just the this city is always in a rush and people are too busy to care about anything but where they are going. |
