So much for reviving the K-Dub scene I suppose.

We have the claim for Ceasar Martini's here. It will be a fun one to watch.

BTW, I could see the flames from my house (about 4km away).

I'm guessing the Cdj 2000's didn't get saved :(

Holy . That corner location was my old haunt back when I was 19-20, when it was called Loose Change Louie's.

That place ruled. Then I grew up.

Oh yeah -- Louies memoirs FTW -- Used to love the $2 Tuesdays there too. Hahahah

Yeah, it certainly sounds like a torch job to me. I could be wrong of course...

This is the oldest trick in the book when it comes to clubs.

And there's certainly an extensive history of it in Kitchener/Waterloo.

Recalling Metropolis and Lyric offhand... Weren't there a couple others too?

I loved Metropolis only cuz they would let me in while I was still under age back then :)

And I don't think Lyric burned down did it?? I thought it just closed??

The city of Kitchener wanted all bars/clubs out of the downtown and pretty much forced all the owners out of there.

I think Element is the only club left downtown now isn't it? And Abstract but that isn't where the majority of them were.

My fave was Sammy's Garage; every Friday night.... oh the fun times :)

Element is still there but I don't think its open every weekend. There is another one downtown but I don't know the name of it.

I miss Sammy's....I think I was there almost every Friday night....it was fun drunken times....oh the drinking...I'm getting drunk just thinking of it.

LOL, I miss that place too. I am sure I paid a few salaries in that place over the years with the money I spent. We were probably going there at the same time Scott and didn't even know it back in the day.

The bartenders knew us so well that as soon as he saw our crew coming up the stairs, by the time we walked to the bar our drinks would already be made and waiting for us :p

Such a lush back then, lol

Lyric didn't burn down. The building was sold for an absurd amount of money to the City of Kitchener and then they tore it down to build... A parking lot!

Apparently it's about to be redeveloped but it's taken them close to 10 years to figure out what to do with the space.

Metropolis 'burnt' down only to be recreated as Wax. Actually, if you went to Wax about a year after the fire you could still smell the smoke. I honestly don't know if Wax is still there or not?!

The ownership of Lyric, Metropolis, The Palace in Guelph, etc. have a bit of a name for finding creative ways for their venues to generate money after their shelf-life has expired.

I have drunken memories of DJing at Metropolis in the 1990s... I got so wasted DJing there one night that I actually fell down the stairs with my 100 pound record box going with me ass over tea kettle. That was fun!
