I was playing with that acapella tonight and sadly it doens't seem to be locked to any tempo at all. It'll be a LONG haul chop-up to get it sitting right in any way.
It's a pisser really because I think it works well.
Maybe i'll rope in somebody with Live to do a bit of warping for me ;) |

If u need any help with that, I'm willing to give it a shot. No stranger to mashups so I know how to warp acapellas :) |

Here's a little draft of what the mashup could be:

The vocals probably still need some tweaks here and there but it sounds pretty cool together :)
The acapella was actually at a steady 130bpm but had a lot more swing to it than what worked for this track so it needed quite some manual warping. |

Haha that works brilliantly :D
I'd managed to get the tempo of 130 but didn't have the tools/skill/inclination to work on it any further, I can imagine it required much tweaking.

Now that I can hear it on monitors I notice the vocals are a bit too loud and the warping is not quite perfect yet. I also noticed the second verse is repeated twice in a row which was not intended. I made this first draft on headphones late at night and that usually results in bad mixing and silly mistakes :p
I think it could be a nice bootleg though. I'm just a little bit too busy to work on it right now. |
