I've been doing lots of research and looking to spend around $10000+taxes. I have read things like flooding engine some other problems with rx8's would like to hear from people who may have some experience with them, and with low k's would a 2004 still be worth it, or would an 06/ 6 be much more practical, even though taking away some of the driving enjoyment. Appreciate the help from people who have experience with these cars.

Your not going to find an RX8 for 10,000...unless your financing it.

I would go with the RX8 for performance unless you need 4 doors and more space.

DON'T GO WITH THE RX8!! I know two people with one and they both hate it!! Lots of flooding problems and the rotary engine won't start in the winter sometimes. I have a 2006 Mazda 6 and I love it :D It doesn't have the performance and look of the RX-8 but it's a sporty looking sedan :D

The 6 has Turbo failure which Mazda will not warrent. Once the turbo fails, stopping at light your gonna see a massive black cloud of smoke from the rear and will need to be towed.

My buddy had that problem, the turbo was dying and he installed custom exhaust which "could" of helped ... but didnt. He got rid of it before the Turbo Failed.

IMO stay from Mazda for a while, don't forget the infamous wheel well rust that's 1000x worst then honda.

Yeah, not sure you're going to get any reliable "performance" oriented car for that price. The most reliability you could get would be a base-model '04-'06 Civic.

The Turbo engine is only on the MazdaSpeed 6, not the regular 6. The MazdaSpeed 6, which you won't find for $10k, will beat the snot out of an RX-8 on a general track.

Personally, I'd go with the 2006 6 as well; it is a very practical vehicle.

i think i've ruled the rx8 out now. To expensive on gas for my long commute, and seems to be very unreliable. Too bad because its a nice looking car. Guess the mazda 6 will make a lot more sense.
