I can't deal with anything with wheels - I can't drive either and when I tried to rollerblade, I almost had a heart attack
I'm such a fail :( |

If the city wants to flush 4.8 mill down the toilet, they should give it to me instead!

In Montreal it has seemed to work well. Granted, Montreal is a far more cycling friendly community than Toronto. (not because of infrastructure, but rather, cycling is a larger part of their culture)
I test rode a one of those bikes in Montreal at a bicycle industry show, and they're well built, and a joy to ride. It is very easy to adjust the ergonomics and fit of the bike.
I dont think this is the solution Toronto needs though. Toronto severely lacks the cyclist:motorist maturity that Montreal has. Since cycling is an intrinsic part of the European culture, motorists respect cyclists, and cyclists respect motorists. As a result there are far less problems than in Toronto, where cyclists are oblivious to road rules, and motorists oblivious to cyclists.
A volume of rented bikes on Toronto's roads sounds like a cluster to me. Maybe a couple rental stations along Queens Quay to Sunnyside beach would be nice.. but anything in the core sounds bad.
PS- nobody should EVER buy 150$ bike. Like anything, you get what you pay for. If you're in the market for a bike, expect to pay 450$ at least. This way you wont be buying trash. (You wouldnt pay 20$ for a blu ray player right?) |

| if there truly was a market for this, the government wouldnt be sinking 4.8 mill into this. What a boondoggle! |
