North Korean submarine sunk South Korean warship

So a lot of people wondered if this was the case, but apparently there is proof now that North Korea sunk that South Korean ship a few months ago.

A North Korean submarine fired a torpedo that sunk a South Korea warship in March, investigators announced Thursday morning in Seoul, South Korea. The conclusion came from a joint investigation committee comprised of American, Australian, British and Swedish, as well as South Korean experts. The warship, the Cheonan, sank after an explosion ripped it in half on March 26 in disputed waters off North Korea. Forty-six sailors were killed or lost in the incident.

So do we invade North Korea or just nuke it?

Or we could stay out of it, since it has all to do with us...

Well we fought a war with North Korea, which isn't officially over. While we and China signed an armistice agreeing to no longer helping each side fight and North & South Korea have ceased fire since the armistice they are officially still at war. In addition we have 25,000 troops still stationed there. So to say it has nothing to do with us and we can stay out of it is naive to say the least. But since we don't want to provoke a war that could re-involve China, I don't think we will do anything but verbally chastise the North. Imagine if we intentionally torpedoed one of the North's warship what their reaction would be.

We've been handing over our camps to South Korea save a few stations like humpreys (Which just gave over it's airfield to south, or is in the process of.) We are downsizing our military a considerable amount. I think it's a good thing. But, we'll always have a presence there, but for now, south Korea could probably withstand a standalone battle with the north because they'd run out of resources far too quickly. China wouldn't aid overtly simply because there are too many economic ties between us and them, but that can always change, who knows.

I think the point was that the US should stop getting involved in other people's conflicts.

So they have an imperialist presence in south korea (which shouldn't be there in the first place, but that's a different topic), surely you aren't suggesting that gives the US a right to dictate the national interests of a sovereign state...??

I'm simply pointing out we've been involved since 1950 and still have a significant military present on the ground. Its like you have you're finger up someone's ass and I walk by and tell you not to get involved, whether you want to or not you already are involved stupid.
