Gonna be a sick one !!! :)

We don't know yet with only Mark Anthony confirmed ?

Would love to see B&B back at the Big O with the kind of set-up we saw last time Tenaglia played with Chus & Ceballos (don't remember the year ???). That was the sickest set-up ever in Montreal
oldskool94
B&B 2005 had the pinball game type of setup, with about 5-7 round islands spread throughout the dancefloor with built-in inteligent lights and tons of speakers. Extremely trippy set up for sound/lights. One of my fav massives ever. Tenaglia and Chus & Ceballos totally ripped it up and wikked vibe. From what I recall, it was one of the most-attended B&B ever with aprox 15 000 partiers.

For the 20th anniv this yr, I'll be disapointed if it's a) not Tenaglia (he'll pull in MANY people, hence would make business sense as well) or b)not at the big O. I don't care if it's not 20 hrs in duration.

If they want something fresh/next level, I'm sure we all agree that Luciano/Loco Dice would fit in very nicely as well. Personally, there is nothing that appeals to me with the current line-up.

Gareth Emery (UK) will also be part of the Trance Room line up.

:)

We want house names here !!!! lol... Mark Anthony is not one because we already know that he's always there

Might visit the Trance room 5 minutes to see Emma Hewitt sign but nothing more than that... It will be interesting to see if the "younger straight trance crowd" that we see at BeB will be there or if they will stay home because it's not BeB ?

@oldskool94: You probably haven't being going to Black & Blue since the beginning ;-) The wickest setup ever was in 1999, where the theme was "Space 1999". As for the most attended B&B ever, it was either the 1999 or the 2000 one. Attendance dropped in 2001 because of 9/11 and attendance was never the same again.
BubbleBat
Well, my first black & blue was in 1994. I was present in 1999 and 2005 and the sickest set-up for me was 2005 but it's an opinion i guest ? I agree that the 1999 set-up was spectacular with all the balloons but nothing close to 2005

You're right about attendance, the peak years where 99/2000 but not only because of 9/11, it was a peak in the Montreal rave scene in general, it was the same in afterhours, for BeB, 514 prod., etc, etc...

No offense here. Just wondering. Is the black and blue almost a exclusively gay event? Is it like the ball en blanc or something like that. I really dont mind gays, but just guys in a event wont do it for me. I hope I dont sound homophobic or something like that, I just want t know cause the trance lineup is looking pretty decent I am considering going to this event.
BubbleBat
Then you should go without any doubt... Black & Blue is usually way better than Bal en Blanc but this is only an opinion. The crowd is older, more mature, etc... I think they decide to go with a Trance room to attract a new crowd (like you)

Bal en Blanc maybe have 10-15% gay and 85-90% straight now, it doesn't have the gay flavor it used to have back in the days

Black & Blue is more 50-50% Gay vs Straight

it is not an exclusively gay event... bbcm is an organisation that generate funds to many causes that touches the gay community, but also everyone, like aids.

it does now attract more the gay community, than bal en blanc although it will become harder to see any difference this year with the trance room attracting even more people than preceding years... bbcm is an organisation actively promoting all year round in the gay community, so yes an event organized by them is more appealing to them. The gay crowd also assist bal en blanc... since ever !!! First bal en blanc was at playground, in the village.

with the other annoucements to be made in the trance room, you'd be crazy not to go. trust me ;)
