Pretentious labels, DJs and music producers killed it.
Well, not killed it. The good trance just moved away from that scene ;) |

| Yes, labels killed it because they sign only generic cookie cutter stuff |

And they have the gut to call every new bedroom producer 'a genius' and every new track is 'awesome' and 'mindblowing'.
No wonder you get inflation.
But that's the way it goes when money must be made in the end. |

Money must be made in the end? 99.8% of the labels don't make any decent money anyways. Of course there is an inflation of tunes, but money is not the reason. I think its incredibly stupid when people say trance is dead because of "the money" when these days you make less money with selling music (=Trance)than ever. |

You have a point. If there are any labels that would kill the genre (*cough*Armada*cough*), then they would do it because the executives are completely profit-motivated and does not care whether the company is a record label or a weapon manufacturer.
My theory is that house music drew somewhere in early 00's, the public's attention away from "trance" music. Probably because house snobs like Ishkur bribed house labels to put semi-naked girls in the music videos, before "trance" music got that idea.
So, since the executives are narrow-minded, they promote their producers and DJ's to, instead of being creative and exploring new sounds, produce music that reminded more of vocal house and eurodance. Well done, and you also made your golden boy a brand, nice job! |
Just stop posting for 's sake. |

ing hell there's a bunch of jaded vets in here
You know what made EDM worse as a whole? Digital labels and the lack of quality control. It's as simple as that when it comes to an overabundance of rubbish music in any genre.
Complaining about specific genres changing is stupid as music always changes. |
