Well I thought i'd put up a quick thread about the Moderator in the DJ Booth (me).
Reason being is that I want to know if there's anything you guys want me to do? Has anything in particular been annoying you about the Booth? Are there any threads that you'd like me to sticky or Unsticky etc..
I try my best to get to all the spambot threads and posts and hope you've been happy enough with how 'clean' the place has been. Sometimes takes a few hours/a day or two depending on the session i've been on :)
But anyway I just wanted to give you guys the opportunity to throw your hat in the circle if there's anything you want to talk about.
Cheers,
Steve |

this was a move. a moderator is a dictator and does not ask how things work, he knows best how things should work himself and do the right decisions to make it that way without asking or even telling anyone. :p
serious though: it could be more action here. i suggest as always to merge dj_booth and producer_studio subforums. |

Not a bad idea actually - would save redirecting all of those "IReallyWannaMakeTranceLikeArminCanYouHelpMePlsThnkYou" threads and might encourage a bit of cross-discussion. |

Even though this forum has gone eerily quiet over the past couple of months, merging this forum with the Production Studio is a really stupid idea. |

| I quite like how things are here, but of course, more activity wouldn't hurt either. Im pleased how mod is working here, no complaints... |

i dont see why.
edm djeing and edm producing is alot of the same. especialy lately when djeing is getting more and more software based and "mixed in key" etc etc. sure djs could learn alot from producers.
also there will be more live-questions in the future which is a combination of both djeing and producing. same gear, same music, same fans, same everything. im sure alot of producers could learn a thing or two from djs about interaction, build, PA-equipment, acting like ur not a freak, etc etc.
lets vote for it imo. |

Actually I wonder why there are so few people writing about their expereinces with live(!) software mixing, including any midi extensions. It seems to me that the vast majority still uses vinyl/cd/dvs and won't change that anytime soon.
Since it's kinda silent here and since I read stuff on ebay like "I'm selling my cdj because I wasn't able to switch from software to cd" and since DJs in general seem to get only older, I guess there's a lack of newcomers. The older ones know how things work and there are not many young ones to ask questions. In fact putting together a "radio show" with software is nothing a true DJ/live-act can be proud of.
So, what I want to say is that a merge is not necessary. DJing and producing is a different pair of shoes. Just keep it like it is, nice and tidy. :) |

| these subjects u talk about are quit often in the production studio, so u have just missed them caus u hang in the dj_booth, there has been a few ones here to, but usually unanswered, caus most of the experienced djs also are into productions and hang in the production studio forum giving away their knowledge there. another point for my suggestion. |

| The idea of merging the two together sounds good, but I dunno if its worth it. Think about how many repeat questions, junk posts, useless posts, etc. shows up in the DJ booth. Do you really want all that in the production forum? I look at the production forum for a lot of ideas and answers to questions I may have without having to create another post. I would hate to have to search for things because the junk posts made the valuable posts drop down onto another page. Or drop off completely. |

| It makes sense to keep DJing and Production separate. They're two very different things at the end of the day. I think the moderation here is fine but yeah this forum has been really quiet lately. Not sure how to get more activity, maybe a "recent gigs" thread or something to swap stories? |
