Modern Dance

So I went and just saw a multi-performance modern dance... performance?

Anyway, yea that was pretty cool. Hot girls dancing around with samurai swords in faux-slo-mo, zombie hot girls fancing around to really energetic post rock music and being shot up, and a group of men and women slowly stripping as they walked back and forth consuming cups of coffee...

The main reason I went to see it though is a friend of my cousins who I used to know from visiting up here produced one of the shows, and it was about going to an alien planet with explorers and climbing a mountain... :|

While the reviewer found the third piece to be bad, I actually enjoyed it a lot. If anyone who has seen 28 days later would notice it had a very God Speed, You Black Emperor sound and the girls looked very undead and zombie like. :O

Anyway, not to sound like a fruit, but for a first experience with modern dance I really really really enjoyed it.

It's not really my thing, but years ago I went to a modern 'remake' (???) of Swan Lake at the Sydney Opera House. Very, very cool electronic music, and funky dance styles that included contortionism, among other things. The name of the production was 'Bird Brain' or something :haha:

Yeah, didn't see that coming :p

Nah, this was back way before I got interested in bird photography. It was in 2001, I think?

In any case, it was a good show/performance/whateveryoucallit.

I rode the ferry today to Seattle from Bremerton... A bunch of glaucous winged gulls were pacing it for a while. Looked like they were ready to start bombing the people riding out on the bow.

On the other hand it gives you a pretty unique oppertunity to see birds flying at speed but with you moving in relation to them. Good for photos.

Boats are great for photographing water birds. If the water isn't to choppy :p

I went to two contemporary dance performances in my life.

One of them was actually pretty cool. This bunch of Japanese hippies started to crawl and stuff on the stage, and the music was pretty awesome.

Then there was this bunch of French dancers that did something truly bizarre that I can't really describe, but it was boring as hell.

Actually, I think hell must be less boring than that!
