Nord Rack 2X users?

These seem to have become very cheap in the UK (575 or so) and i'm a bit tempted.

Any other users out there?

I sold my Virus because it didn't do anything that I couldn't do in Sylenth (or anything I neeeded at any rate) but after listening to a load of sound demos, including AMs soundset one I seeing a pretty tasty character that my VSTs can't really cover.

I liek teh knobs as well

You've discovered (no pun) a VST synth that i've not tried or considered.

You should win a prize.

Hmmm

So Discovery Pro can load Nord Lead patches then?
Storyteller
Yes. So can Synth1 (free). I haven't compared Discovery and de Nord, but Synth1 and the Nord don't sound the same at all even though the vst is based on the Nord entirely :-).

I didn't realise that about Synth1 and i've used it for ages

I can't say I've noticed it sounding at all Nord like tbh, but listening to some of the Discovery mp3s I can see the similarity there.

have a nord rack 2 and a virus ti and tbh the nord is getting sold soon, just find it boring and not worth the effort of reaching up to it to program and doing all the midi out audio in .

Imo if you got bored with your virus then you'll get bored with the nord but what the hell buy it and sell it on when/if you get bored, probly wont loose much money if you do anyway. At least then you'll have you're own opinion on it without going by what everyone else 'advises' you to do.

Deal, i'll give you 200 for it ;)

If your serious, make an offer closer to the 300 mark then I'd happy pass it on to you.

Its was on my to do list at the moment to put it on ebay , but probabbly would be sitting colecting dust for a few more months.

Appart from a bit of a scratch to the logo on the unit it works perfect and the knobs still feel firm, lol. I can pass on pictures if your serious.

If your not, well f u lol

I'm probably midway at the moment.

I'll test Discovery first ;)

The NL2X is a great synth IMO and holds it resale value well. It has great DACs and is about as straightforward to program as you'd ever want.

I tried Discovery Pro numerous times, but even though the sound does resemble the Nord, it doesn't capture the character of the Nord sound completely. I also didn't care for the feel of its knobs, the buttons felt cheap (like they were just drawn on the interface or something), and its resale value sucks. ;)

LMAO

You've quite the sense of humour for a yank

And imagine my surprise that a conversation about a hardware synth lured you onto teh forum again :D

It's almost like you have your own code trawling teh interweb for keywords.
