Do you produce in genres other than trance?

Just following on from Brads comment that trance seems static and that the innovations are comming from other genres, prompted to me wonder whether people are making stuff outside of trance.
Maybe we could give a snippet here of non trance stuff we are making - is that allowed here?
I'll kick off, I'm into producing;
Trance
Progressive
House
Tech house
Minimal
Here's a hardish house / tech thang I've just begun - no sweeps or anything yet, but I LOVE the rythm so far.
Give me a melo 4.mp3 - 4.93MB |

Whilst trance is probably produced more than any other specific genre on this forum, I'd guess that over 50% on here don't produce trance at all.
I haven't done any trance in ages. Latest track continues this trend

I'll do anything I can think of, trance being just a fraction of it. |

Thanks :)
I'm in the process of getting some vocals written for it and a rhythm guitarist lined up, then i'll try and make a track out of it. |

Producing almost all Progressive House with a bit of Deep House. Haven't made a proper "trance" track since our Not Over Yet remix last year, and even that's more Progressive than Trance, IMO.
Newest tracks previewed at our Soundcloud, in my sig. |

I'm a genre retard. I know what trance used to be, but I have no idea what it is now and, quite frankly, don't really care. I stopped trying to categorize my tracks a long time ago because I don't pay enough attention to genres to even know the differences anymore. So, I guess I would say that about a third of what I produce could loosely be called trance (or maybe upbeat house-ish tracks with trance elements), but many of those tracks are collaborative projects with tranceheads.
The rest of my tracks range from downtempo and chillout to triphop to electronica-influenced pop/rock. The singers that I work with tend to write more folksy pop-oriented stuff, so when I work on their original tracks, they tend to end up as electronica-influenced indie pop/rock.
I've also been spending a lot of time experimenting with different world/ethnic styles over the past few years, but they're mostly just snippets of various ideas, rather than completed projects. I studied some of this in college, but that was decades ago and I didn't really have much interest in it back then, so I didn't really retain any of it. But, it's really been a fun challenge trying to re-educate myself and incorporate some of these elements in my tracks. One of these days, I'll finish something I'm happy with and post it. |
