SoundToys Plugins load slow?

Hey guys, I know that a few of you (e.g., Eric J) own the SoundToys plugins and I was wondering if any of you have had a problem with them taking a long time to load? I purchased the native bundle (VST) a few months back, but I've noticed that inserting them in a project can sometimes take up to around 30 seconds. I've noticed this behavior in several DAWs/audio editors. Also, it seems to vary with projects, but sometimes this only occurs with the first SoundToys plugin that I insert and any subsequent ST plugins will load immediately, but in other projects, every instance of a ST plugin takes a while to load.
I'm wondering if it's related to the iLok, but I've got two iLoks (and a SyncroSoft dongle) each with several other licenses on them and none of those plugins have that problem. I'm on Windows 7 32-bit FWIW. |

| They seem to load OK for me, but I'm on a Mac, so I'm not really a good reference point for you. Waves are iLok and are particularly slow for me when I load them for the first time in a session, but after that they are fine. Maybe it is something related to iLok? |

| Yeah, you may be on to something there. BTW, I should clarify that 30 seconds is about the longest time it takes and they are stable once loaded. It's usually more like 15 seconds - just long enough to make me panic a little bit each time. ;) |

Yeah that sounds like the same behavior I experience with my Waves plugins, so it may indeed the the iLok protection. |

Also on a Mac. Mine load very quick as well, as quick as anything else, so it's never been a concern.
Delay is probably being caused because you have two iLoks maybe?
Maybe it's scanning the first one, then rescanning it, then giving up, then scanning the second one?
*shrugs* Don't know.
But hey, it works, so why stress? :D |

I considered that, but none of my other plugins have the same problem. Of course, maybe SoundToys' code deals with it differently and hence the problem. *shrugs* Don't know. :p

Right on, bro! :)
But, just to be clear, I'm really not stressed - it's been doing this for months so I just figured I'd just check around to see if it's just on my system (i.e., trying to avoid actually working today).

Yeah, I think I'm convinced that this is the answer. ;) |

Because you're copy protection is stuffing up the program you paid for.
1/you might think about running a cracked version to confirm if its ACTUALLY the copy protection thats causing the problem.
2/ it further justifies my point that I made in the thread about how piracy can be good for consumers if it forces companies to abandon rstrictive copy protection schemes which degrade performance.

Just ignore me... |

on my system (win7 / core i7 920) all ilok plugins take a few seconds to load. i can't say the soundtoys plugins take longer than other ilok plugins.
i'm beta-tester for soundtoys. if you want i can report them your problem directly. |

Naw, it's not that big a deal. It's not like I'm having any serious stability issues or anything that would make the legitimate version unusable. Also, one of the reasons I posted this is because there's always the chance that the issue is something wrong with my system or installation (e.g., bad driver for my iLok or something) or just standard behavior on my particular OS, and the SoundToys plugins are just showing the symptoms, rather than causing the problem.

That would be fine with me - thanks for offering! I'll check tonight and see if there have been updates since I bought it (in February IIRC). |
