The title is kind of misleading since they said in the story ->

"The 24-year-old man who died at home died of multiple drug intoxication, the CDC said. The man had no chronic illnesses. The man’s friends informed authorities that he had “used Ecstasy and cocaine at the rave and injected heroin at home afterward.”"

6 months for the report to come out too?

what the hell does someone expect the result to be mixing all those drugs? gimme a break. and now raves are to blame for this persons death when the person is completely at fault for being so stupid and irresponsible mixing all those drugs.

The mans friends informed authorities that he had used Ecstasy and cocaine at the rave and injected heroin at home afterward.

that's asking for it.

there is going to be a HUGE limelight on EDC....hopefully everybody is safe!

This is nothing new, it's been happening for as long as I remember. Actually, there was a huge amount of people who OD'd at a massive at the Sports Arena in the 90's. They stopped doing the raves for a while and let things cool off. Now, they're getting so big, that it's only a matter of time before they stop them again.

My guess is some politician down here wants to try to stop events at city owned venues in LA or something (like the Sports Arena & Colliseum), and this is how they start sreading the fears down here...by using someone they know in the media to get them to show how something at the COw Palce happens down iN SoCal too...although he took drugs AFTER the event, mixed them, etc.

Just like one of the dudes from POP who passed away admitted himself into the ER two days later, which I haven't seen mentioned in an article. Not even the same night as POP. At least that's what I heard. I could be wrong.

That story was very confusing. The author was trying very hard to prove something with data that was beyond irrelevant.

How dare we as taxpayers allow raves at a public place (that would normally not bring in a cent, and cost the taxpayers to keep it empty) and tie up all our emergency resources like paramedics and cops (who are usually off duty and paid VERY well to be there), like COW palace on memorial day when it is clear from this idiot who OD'd at home after New Years in LA has put all our kids (whose parents allowed them to go) at risk!?

I think the author has OD'd on something.

Huh? There's a lot of events that go down at the Sports Arena & Coliseum that aren't raves. I've been to quite a few of them.
anomalies
The article says that 45,000 people were attendance, yet on Global DJ Broadcast World Tour, Markus Schulz said that there were 130k+ people at TAO.

I wonder who provide the false information.

True, I didn't mean to imply that nothing else goes on there, just that the rave that weekend was the highest bidder, and the nerve of them to want to cover their costs or *gasp* make a profit.

just another example of reportes getting the facts wrong, people putting the blame on others and trying to ruin the fun for the majority that follow the rules...
this soo came of the heels of ETD Pop at the Cow Palace, and 6 months later? c'mon.

article sounds like "bla bla bla bla..." to me
