Some of my favorites from the past months:

kinda gree but still its the best label on this planet together with Anjunadeep. You can find at least 1-2 good tracks in every release, or even more. The Loquai and Human8 albums however doesnt belong on this label.

Saying it's the best label on the planet is ludicrous over-praise. It's one of the best prog/trance labels, but even then imprints like Morphosis, Silk Digital, Tilth, Toes In The Sand provide a lot of good stuff, and because they aren't releasing 100 singles a year the consistency is better. The core acts (Michael & Levan, Stivin Rivic, Domased Electronica, Kay-D, Fretwell) are consistent, but I don't agree that 1-2 tracks on every release are good.

if you are into proper progressive house or breaks this is the best label without a doubt. Morphosis has declined in quality alot the latest year, their sound is more generic minimal prog these days. And Tilth and Toes In The Sand has barely released anything interesting in years imo.
Then i dont think there are any trance labels that are as consistent as Mistique when it comes to trance, Joof is probably the best according to most people (which i barely consider a good label). Techno, minimal & rest of EDM genre labels i don't give a about

I am into those styles, but I'm into many other styles too. Mistique is a good trance label, but it's not a great label.

Yeah, the vocals ruin this. I'm a bit worried about Mistiquemusic - they're churning out so much stuff right now the quality isn't as good as it could be. When this label gets it right it's some of the best progressive trance around, but they've released about 50 things on both labels this year already, which is way too much to maintain that standard.

It's slightly worrying, mainly in the sense that I don't get time to listen to all the releases! A few slip the net every month, which is a shame.

I agree that they should limit their releases to 1-2 per month, focus on quality over quantity. Still, great label all round.

Those vocals make me cringe :(
Light The Fuse
Ilya Malyuev softech mix ftw!

I love this label at the moment - yes they churn out a fair bit - but seriously if there are 3 releases in a week and i really like (or perhaps even love) one mix of one tune out of all of them - and that is consistantly achieved then to me that equals a very strong label.

and that is what mystique is doing for me at the moment!

Keep it up - awesome :-)

I usually like Mistiquemusic for the selection of progressive breaks, but I do agree they've been churning out a lot this year. I do find I'm picking up more stuff from Mistique than Morphosis lately, which hasn't always been the case.

I think the Domased Electronica Remix is my favorite from this release. I do enjoy progressive breaks, and the shift away from four to the floor in the middle really helps keep it interesting. I especially like the shift in pitch, it raises the energy for me.

I can see why the vocals would turn people off, but they don't particularly bug me.

Cheesy mcprog and trance. This has got nothing to do with proper progressive house IMO. If this represents what Mistiquemusic releases and if it's similar to Anjunadeep, then I really don't want to hear any more of this modern "proper progressive house or breaks". :nervous:

If you're giving up after hearing one Mistique track and some Anjunadeep, you don't ing deserve any good prog house or breaks.

Light The Fuse
on the subject of good labels - plusquams newer releases are really starting to float my boat in a similar vein to mistique

lol. Who says I'm giving up on good prog house or breaks?

I just find it odd that people praise Anjunadeep and the likes and hype it as proper progressive house as in my opinion it isn't proper, progressive or house let alone proper progressive house.

I was excited after reading this thread. I thought that maybe I can find some new proper progressive house that I've been unaware of before. Instead I found cheesy mcprog and trance. I can't for the life of me understand how these genres ever got mixed up. I wish there would be a different name for this mcprog type of stuff, so people like me who don't really care for it but love proper progressive house could avoid it more easily.

I guess genres "change" over time. What is now widely marketed as trance has got very little to do with trance of the past. It's more cheesy dance music now. Same goes for progressive house then apparently. :(

But like I said, if this type of stuff is what is nowadays called "proper progressive house or breaks", I don't want to hear it. I'll much rather go look elsewhere for a different view on what is "proper progressive house or breaks" as this isn't it IMO.

Still, I might check out if Mistiquemusic has anything good for sale, but I'm pretty sure I've given up on Anjunadeep as I've heard a lot from them and I haven't liked any of it.
