If it does go belly up - I can release it myself through Bonzai, so just let me know. I'm pretty sure if the release has been submitted via the Bonzai upload tool then you're good to go, but I'll get some clarity for you when the owner returns. |
Thanks Stephen, I appreciate that. But, I'm not really worried about the song not being released because the contract was signed months ago, the remixes/mastering are done, it's literally going to be released any day now, and, as they stated on their FB page, songs already signed will not be affected by the label closures. So, I have no doubt that they'll release it - I'm really just looking to satisfy my curiosity as to the future of the label. |

all indications point towards it will be released. don't really want to say more on a public forum.
what are your concerns about the future |

As I stated twice, I have no concerns about our song's release.

That's it, nothing else. I just want to know. Sheesh - can't a guy just want to know if a label that he is signed to is going under? :stongue:
Just giving you a hard time, Stephen. But it's a good bet that I'm not the only person wondering exactly which labels they're doing away with. |

| They are only ditching Bonzai owned and operated Trance labels besides the 3 mentioned above. All of their distribution labels, Olympik for example, will remain untouched. This is strictly geared towards the different Bonzai labels, not their distributors. |

I didn't realize that you were associated with Bonzai. Good to know it won't affect you, though! ;) |

| This is good news about Bonzai. Glad they are streamlining their operation, and focusing on the more relevant genres. Very happy they are focusing on quality instead of quantity. I signed an EP to Bonzai a few weeks ago, and noticed the Bonzai Progressive logo attached to the email with the contracts. So, guess I'll be OK, for now. |

The problem is that many if not all the big names only play label signed tracks, is their business of course. But i really hopes this changes.
For me in a world of piracy i just hope that you can play/be played/release whatever you want and if people like it they can donate a few bucks. Honestly the label work it's completely outdated.
Track selection? Releasing crap every dat
Promotion? You release something and you're lucky if you know when it will be released.
And beatport sales 1'5$ beatport gets 0'5$ and the label another 0'5$ so you get 1/3 when you are the only who made real work. this. |

ok guys, time for an update on this before many get confused.
Banshee Worx besides a record company holding many sublabels is also a digital distributor.
The information being sent here was only about own labels, none of the distribution labels are getting involved.
What we are announcing now is just the conclusion of 2 years of hard work for my partners. What is the point doing uplifting trance if we don't like it? You can't objectively sign a record and support it if it doesn't suit your personal taste. We made some unhappy because they weren't treated as "superstars". Sorry about that.
So, now it's clear, we're only going for what we like in first instance.
To keep it short, Banshee will distribute Trance and uplifting tracks from the distributed labels but its own labels (Bonzai imprint, Green martian, and some others) are being revamped.
And besides that: no worries about Banshee's financial situation. |

This sounds a bit odd. I just signed a collab and a solo project to Bonzai, admittedly neither of them are 'trance' as defined by the ASOT / TATW shows etc but they both have trancy elements as well as a bit of prog and tech. The contract for the collab (which is the most trance of the lot) has an option for us to send our next three masters to Bonzai first, wouldn't expect to see this if they are moving away from the trance sound.
Not saying you're wrong though |
Got to hear your stuff, it stands away from the music they play in those shows, which is what I like personally. Keep making more of that |

Hi Laurent,
Glad you like it, your music has been a big influence on me for years so your approval is the pinnacle of my music achievement!!!:D
And thanks very much for agreeing to do a Planisphere remix of 'Run'. |

Has anybody seen a list of the labels that are being shut down? I'm just curious because we have a track expected to be released by them any day now. I see on their FB page that releases already signed won't be affected, but I'd still like to know if we're on a doomed label. |
im in the same boat. have a release on one of there labels coming out end of the summer...
