The police seemed more terrified than anything from the people's rage on the streets :stongue:

stupid protesters...they should all be arrested...when will they learn that yelling, holding signs and disrupting the peace does nothing.
ahhh yes... sitting in a circle singing kumbaya usually works better at bringing about social change.

Good.
So much money wasted on this thing, might as well see some action.
If G20 was in Russia, you wouldn't hear a peep from these so called "protesters"

Who's spinning at the G20 protest?
well, Jay-Z is apparently the music of dissent, according to one of the groups today, lol!
the march across College this evening was quite a spectacle. after work, a small group of us went across the street to a patio, across from police headquarters. it turned into quite the show. 200+ cops, many in full riot gear...all buildings in the area under lockdown.
honestly, the Tamil march was 10x more impressive, less cheesy and better organized. we saw a mishmash of hippies and idiots tonight...from a militant (and scary-looking) group of masked people chanting "F**k the police" to a pro-marijuana group to a person in a furry seal outfit (seals are furry?) proclaiming "Canada's shame".
at one point, we were ordered indoors as some of the protesters were apparently throwing things at police and the crowd...but I didn't see any of that.
lol @ some people taking pics. I don't know if they were "media" or part of the protesters' group, but they were decked out in helmets, vests, boots, gas masks ready, etc. as if they were embedded in an army unit in Afghanistan instead of steps away from a ing Starbucks. so over-the-top it was almost comical...but you got the feeling could go down at any moment.
it seemed to be well-handled by police in terms of crowd control and safety.
from home, I just heard a group go by ~10 min ago near Ryerson, presumably off to Dundas Square or something. I'm sure this weekend will be quite the show.
I hope everyone remembers this disgusting waste of resources and money when the next federal election rolls around. sooooo unnecessary.
