women's suffrage, civil rights, gay rights..thank God no one told these people to shut their mouths and put down their signs..

most of us enjoy rights and liberties that came as a direct result of protest...maybe if people listened to the issues rather than falling into the trap of letting the government and media drown them out with this sensationalism..we'd be a little more empowered..

Did people consider those protesters as a bunch of low lifes hippies back in those days too? funny how most people bash and make fun of the protesters of today..

Excellent post btw gummy.

those protests were large peaceful, unlike militant pseudo anarchists that seems to make up quite a few of protesters today

these G8 and G20 'protests' are just a fad for a lot of people to cause (and party lol) they have lost their 'punch' a long time ago when it's like an yearly event, and just loud noises that people ignore. if these protesters want to send an effective message, they need to find a better medium than G8 or G20 summits.

no politician in their right mind would give a damn about these protesters. nor should they.

i'm thinking of those buddhist monk that lit himself on fire to protest against the vietnam war or that chick who threw herself at king's horse to fight for women's suffrage. now they had balls

unlike all these masked types who throw rocks and flipping cars and think they are promoting a cause

Thank once again posting very informative videos. I pass by the film studio every, and always see it heavy guarded, I assume it was some major for the G20. Didn't know it's used as temp holding prison for this weekend. Are they expecting to arrest that many ppl?

Well I'm glad that you find these videos informative and dont find them as conspiracy theories and such. In regards to your question I'm not sure if they are expecting to arrest that many people but I wouldnt be surprised if they just start loading people into the buses and accuse them of everything and anything and send them to those jails. Again lets not forget that they really need to put this 1 Billion dollars in use one way or another.

The government does care but they know they can't stop the protests. Subsequently, they try to nullify the message. In order to divide and conquer, they create this nasty image of protestors that turns the average joe off so much that they don't even tune into what the message is. The average Joe is too busy salivating over the "drama" that is enfolding in front of them,..or better yet, waiting for the promised drama. Keep your eye on the prize and tune out that nasty hippie who actually has something profound to offer.

The government spent hundreds of millions of dollars on security right? They made sure the preview was out of this world and have spoon fed us the promise of excitement through every media outlet possible. It is sad that our thirst for drama is so much more intense than our thirst for knowledge and empowerment.

In reality, the overwhelming majority of protestors are peaceful. There will be many protests during the weekend and I'm sure out of the thousand marching, there will be small percentage of people who actually cause problems.

in my humble opinion of course..;)
