The Unending Quartet - Jiao's Arduous Quest

Friendly greetings, brothers.

Here is our contribution to the sudden outburst of tunes from regulars (although, I was actually planning on uploading this regardless).

It is based on self-made literature/random ideas. It would be awesome to hear people's thoughts on this. A big thanks in advance to those who have a listen.

Hit refresh on your soundcloud and you'll see it got somethiiiing else. Something I rarely give out, too! And I'm now following "The Unending Quartet" - Which I am just indiscriminate about. (Did you change to a new account since I could have sworn I was already following you?)

:D

Keep it coming!

(FWIW - I love those down-load counters, too.)

Aww shucks, my first favourite :toothless Thanks!

You're perhaps following my "OwenF" alias, which I no longer use. "The Unending Quartet" is a collaboration with a friend of mine.

Awesome work. Quite a departure for you (again).

I'm going to leave proper feedback until tomorrow as I can't really listen to it properly tonight but the thing that stuck out on first listen is VIBE!
Owsey2008
Cheers, Geoffrey! Looking forward to it.

Quite stunning tbh.

Your treatment of spot FX and reverb is completely masterful. I really don't know how you tame SO much reverb and get it to work, and work well.

I'm not convinced there's enough actual melody in what is quite a downtempo track but that's more than made up by the sheer creaminess of the production. I'd love to hear far more of that splendid piano.

I almost feel guilty for laying any critisism down on such a sublimely crafted piece of shizzle but I just wanted more of what was already there.

Stunning Owen, truly!
Owsey2008
Wow, thanks Geoffrey! You're too much :p

I'm really glad you like it. The reverb here is entirely the result of your recommendation - Redline. It's only a 60-day trial, but I will definitely pick it up once my time runs out.

I'm also glad you like the piano, because it's one of my favourite elements in this case. I did consider having more of it, but what's done is done. Thanks again, big lad.

Maybe there's a case for a more ambient piano heavy mix?

And also, if you haven't already done so it's worth demo'ing Artsacoustic Reverb too. I'm demo'ing it at the moment and I think it sounds even smoother at the settings you often use most, ie MASSIVE SPAAACE ;)

Owsey2008
Sweet, I'll check that out!

You know, I do plan on making my own Ambient version of the track. Just don't expect it anytime soon

Get busy son. You're half my age and most likely have 10 times the free time ;)
