True, probably quite hard to fall asleep with that music playing. But I dunno, fatigue always seems to get the best of me. Oh well, if the going gets rough I'll just hang out with you guys behind the DJ booth.

If drugs are out of the question, for supper, eat pasta and take a nap. I personally cannot last past 6am either if I'm not taking speed, so I usually take a half a speed. I go to an afterhours max once a month, so.. what the hell.

espresso works wonders too!!!!

Aye aye aye! My head...

Sunglasses works wonderfully... Alright i'm taking a nap. (can still hear the thumping bass of the techno).

I will never get over the fact that I missed this. Indeed, one of THE biggest bookings (if not, THE biggest) for Martin's Blackout night this year. I had to skip it tho, because I'm working ALOT this week and sleep is a very valuable thing for me.

How long was his set? Was it fresh or exactly what you expected? Banging all the way through? Or did he build things up nicely with flow and progression?

Reviews, please. And not "Itook3speedomfgwowitwassoamazingtechnoooooo" reviews.

In 9 days, I'm meeting Maher in Berlin...I'm going away to Europe for a month (Germany, Spain, Balearic Islands +++ other places). Hopefully, I'll catch Chris at some point, somewhere along my journey...maybe Ibiza?

Congrats Martin :)

It was raw, ugly and disgustingly aswesome. You had the banging bass thumping everywhere pretty much all the time. Very little build up which is probably the biggest disappointment for me. The energy from the people all around me was insane. You can feel the crowd go mad for his music dancing to the darkness.
The music he was playing all night long were redundant, but still had bits of creativity.

I had fun, i danced until i couldn't feel my feet.

soooo gutted I missed this... in europe atm and i knew when liebing finally came i would miss it, just had this feeling. hope it was in awesome (i know it was lol)

I am going to do a big ass review just for you Erika.

First off, I can say that the last 3 months have been, by far and without a doubt, the most insane quality stretch of music I have heard.

I am extremely proud of the Black Out nights, very proud of my city and my crowd. And I can assure you, that we are doing something very unique not only in Canada, but in North America.

And all of the invited guests really LOVE playing for you guys.

The turnout and the energy last night was amazing. Especially considering there was probably over 1500 people for Markus Schulz at Red-Lite. People were so happy.

Like Alex and Brian, Chris is a true professional and just a very, very nice guy. Totally down to earth, a pleasure to be with.

The quality of the music and performances are like no other. These guys brings this to a level of amazement and baffle other DJs.

They are all completely sober, so focused and professional. They ALWAYS deliver big time. You hear a lot of stuff about some DJs not being at their best because they did a long set the night before, or tired, or drugged out...

Not them. Because they are the fckn real deal. And they work their ass off for the money they get. And this is how it should be.

So Chris was hard and loopy like expected, but not fast. Which I enjoyed a lot since I could barely keep up with him a few years back. Still that very raunchy sound, distortion, and very very well done. A lot, I would say mostly unreleased stuff and recent CLR releases. (btw those next clr releases are killers).

I wouldn't say there was a lot of variations in pace and style. Chris is all about big bass and rolling hi hats. More about having one huge awesome sound repeating rather then a wide range of ups and downs. Some of those sounds were nasty as fck.

It was relentless. But at 127 bpm, it was relentlessly comfortable and not tiresome.

Big moment of the night is when Chris dropped a Moh track. Moh just went nuts. Very touching, he was so happy.

Not one single track played sounded like the original one.He just worked, and worked his way into them... very impressive.

Everytime somebody was asking me 'what's that track?' I was like, I don't know. He is playing 4 decks at the same time plus FX and Maschine... I could barely understand what he was doing and obviously look like a in little school girl compared to him.

Which brings me to the point that for the first time since I am a DJ, I was totally star strucked and intimidated when I came on decks at 8 am (he played about 4 hours). Almost frozen. Could barely play. Never happened to me before. But then again, by that time I was really really tired. It was a long pounding night and a lot to take care of.

A lot of people stayed very late, they all gave their best, Chris is very pleased with the night.

So this is the end of the big CLR summer event. It was fantastic.

We will go back with more local nights, I hope you guys will still come even if we don't have the big hitters all the time.

damn. I should have trekked it to MTL! Circus is starting to take the techno spot from Platform@FW in TO! I wish there was more collaboration between Platform and Circus to share the talent. Cheaper and spreadin the love :)

Liebing still holds my favorite techno beatdown in 2007 @FW w/ Tony Rohr.
