Anybody here own/use one of these portable keyboards? I'm going on vacation next week and want something small and portable to bring along for getting some ideas together.
Akai LPK25
Korg NanoKey
I'm mostly wondering how durable they are and if there are any major issues I should be aware of. Suggestions for other portable keyboards are welcome, but AFAIK these are the only two that my local Guitar Center has in stock. |

I would definitely go with the LPK. I've just been hearing from people that they had bad experiences with the Nanokey.
Here's one example:

Thanks for the link - very helpful! Based on that, the NanoKey is out of the running. |

I got a nanokey for christmas and for what it does it's nice. I don't ask much as it doesn't cost much. And mine's still in one piece after intensive travelling by car in backpacks to gigs and to school. That said, we can objectively say that the LPK is a lot better. |

That's good to hear, since there's a chance that the Akai may not be in stock locally after all, so I may need to settle for the Nano. |

Went to GC earlier to try these two controllers out. While I was there, I had the salesman pull out the NanoKey and, as he's playing the keys and telling me what a cheap POS it is, one of the keys snaps in half and falls to pieces on the counter. I bought the Akai. ;) |
