| Best boat cruise in the city for sure. Anyone who missed this event for the other lame boat cruises should get their heads checked. |

My smile is still from ear-to-ear from Canada Day. That was the most amazing fun I've had in ages!
DEMI and OMID cruise vibe was really second to none. So many friends on that boat (old and new). I gotta tell ya, it helped that they had tall boys of Steamwhistle on the Empress ;) yes, yes,,,I'm a local beer geek.
I thought we took the vibe from Empress up to Sunset Sessions quite well. Many peeps were out on the patio chilling. And rightly so, the weather was UNREAL from about 5pm onward. Sunny and hot. It's funny cause that's a venue that typically works better when it's full (of course), but C is right. There were so many friends both inside and out, that it didn't matter. We had some rocking tunage inside, with the chill group on the patio. Worked well for me :gsmile:
Big ups to Carey, Gregor, Nuno, Ayse, and the Fabricated crew for coordinating a flawless Canada Day for so many!
Hmmm.....track of the day..... SHUR-I-KAN "ONE NIGHT IN TOKYO" :tongue2 |

LOL, the second year in a row they didn't allow me in the after party at the Docks.
Although I don't remember not getting let in, Tryst was fun though.
That was the best cruise in a long time! |

| Obviously I was present. What don't you get? In your case you were too intoxicated/high, they deemed you a liability and therefor refused you entry. |

This boat cruise ranks one of the best I've been to, and I anticipated it would be as such when it was announced. I'm glad there was an abundance of cruises going on that day because it enabled this one to not be overly crowded and full of dodgy characters. The only problematic person I ran into was this douche bag who first offered to buy my hat for $100 as he took out a bill, and after politely refusing and telling him I would have to go with fashion but find me after the boat, 30 minutes later he decided to start yelling at me and a few others up front, and pretty much threatened us. Sorry Roid Rage, you need to walk the plank! ;) Other than that, the crowd was great, lots of pretty smiles and twinkling feet.
The boat left a bit later than planned, but it wasn't that big of an annoyance because at least Omid16B and Demi were playing music while it was still docked. Most people had to wait a bit to start drinking, but fortunately for me, the bartender had no problem serving me one of the only beers that were around. It's gotta be the dino charm  The boat came back 15 minutes early or so, but it was such an enjoyable cruise the entire time that it made a minor difference.
Demi and Omid16B played their prime material with no dull parts. It's nice to hear something other than tech house.. and we loved every second; I had to whore up the front of the booth most of the time as a result. I couldn't leave upstairs cause the groovy beats wouldn't allow me, so I didn't really get to check out the deejays down stairs. The tunes I heard in the background every time I had to be were great, if that makes up for anything, lol.
I had a fun time at the Solarium.. this was around the time when my drunkenness turned into blackouts so I can't remember too much, but I think I got in with no issues. It's unfortunate that many did not. It must of helped that one of the bouncers went to High School with me I suppose. It was fun being one of the only ones jamming to the Irgo beats, as everyone stayed outside.. but it didn't take long to pick up. We left shortly after an hour or so.. and the rest of my night was a write off.
Huge props to Gregor, Carey and crew for keeping promises and trying your best to make us all happy. If I decide to go on anymore cruises this Summer, it'll definately be on this boat/promotion. |

no need to apologize stefan.. glad you and luke agree that the bouncers were not sensible at all. To further my conversation with the security manager who was leaning back on the fence smiling away... i tell him..'lets be reasonable, you need to give me a valid reason why you think I am too intoxicated' he then explains he doesn't need to and that his decision stands. I then say 'Am I slurring my words?' I even demonstrate that I am walking straight.. honestly i was quite astonished as this has never happend to me..
After all this discussion I see him trip while back up on the fence and he loses his stepping then holds onto the fence or barracde... I tell him you are probably high yourself and you are demonstrating to me that you are intoxicated.. I LoL and sat on the grass and waited a bit for my friend. Went to Keating Channel Pub after was very chill. |
The bouncer doesn't have to give you any explanation as to why you are denied access. If he thought you were intoxicated then that is all he needs to deny you access. |

omid was loving every single second of the cruise. Poured vodka in people's mouth who were right up front jamming with him lol
also the fact that i was one of the 2 people who got a vinyl ep from him was even more amazing, i had to scream like a little girl for him to notice me and give me one :stongue: |

Easily one of the best cruises I've been on in a very long time - vibe, beats and crowd were spot on. :D
Knox - post your quote! haha |

my post was to emphasize the bouncer was probably high/intoxicated himself and his reasoning was next to none. |

Who needs three of them when you've got Demi and Omid....???
Absolutely incredible boat cruise. The vibe and music brought me back to that first Demi cruise a few years ago. Non stop smiles. Demi and Omid sure know how to lay down those perfect summer boat tunes. The dancefloor was always moving.
The organization for the boat was great. Music playing from start to finish. The Fabricated floor was also rockin' with some sweet progged out beats...
Can we do this again?? Keep these two coming back and you've got a recipe for continued success!
Excellent job to all involved in this party.... |
