fl studio newbie here.
every time my main "crash" kicks in, different parts of my song get louder.
how can i solve this? i've just become familiar with "sidechaining", is this what needs to be done?
would greatly appreciate any help
thanks |

your question is not very clear are you putting any fx on your sounds in the mix if so then this may be why you have problems with levels ect.
if you dont know how to sidechain correctly then this will cause all kinda problems |

every time my crash goes off, my snare drum, for example, will become noticeably louder.
and if by effects you mean delay, then yes. i have added the "fruity delay bank" to it, but removed it to see if it changed, and it didn't. |

post a sample for us to listen to.. Is the velocity not turned up on the louder hits for that part? Have you accidently automated volume on the lanes that do this?? Does this stop if you remove the crash or mute it?? |

| Sounds in the top part of the playlist clip thing are always a tad bit louder, hope that helps |

| I bet it's a clipping or limiting issue. |

| what are you putting on your master channel? just look at the waveform, its running out of breathing space, you have to turn your elements down. |

distortion, everything is so loud without the crash that soon as you put it in, it distorts the snare. I may be wrong but I think that's the issue.
lower the volume on all of your tracks = problem solved |
