stoli is lighter fluid.
Even people who drink turpentine think it's harsh. |

Most of it will clean windows ok, I'm not a fan of it either.
About the only 'decent' ones I've tried where in Poland made by Polmos. |

agreed, i'm shocked at how many people are saying the cheap, ty, mass-produced vodka is their favorites (like stoli, absolut, smirnoff). all that tastes the same to me.
personally i try to avoid vodka as much as possible but i think due to the price and reputation i've convinced myself that the typical top-shelf vodkas like grey goose, ketel one, belvedere, etc. go down smoother than the cheap stuff. it's probably all in my head though. |

I don't know. I've had random taste tests with a lot of friends and people have always been able to tell the top-shelf stuff from the imitators.
I do think a lot of it is just your head telling you that it tastes better because you wasted so much money on it, but I do also think that there is something to it.
Oh, and I like vodka. |

It's pretty easy imo. seems like the extra $10 shouldn't matter much, but it really does. |

lol i was actually just thinking about this. if you put a swig of cheap , average brand X, top shelf brand Y, and like, some handcrafted, finely aged, carbon-filtered gold-plated diamond-encrusted vodka next to each other and were asked to find the highest quality swill, would most people be able to tell the difference? when you say "people have always been able to tell" is this ALL of the testers, or just a percentage?
me personally, i think i would have a hard time. it all tastes and smells like glue, it all burns going down, and it all gets me drunk quickly.
vodka is not my first choice for liquor obviously, heh. too many bad experiences in high school, i suppose. |

| Been running on straight Stoli for the last two hours. Vodka is never my first choice, but it's the only option for tonight, so... |

| I'd be able to tell which one was crap pretty easily. Don't know about the other two, since I don't remember buying any crazy expensive vodka before. |
