You mean repost of the year? :p
It's been said time and time again. I do think the 850 is a bit of a r'tard. Just have the 900 and the 2000. Done. |

| Eh....I agree with the last few posts. Doesn't really seem necessary to have this, with all the new cdj's recently. Unless you really liked the color of the 800's. |

I'd nearly have preferred if they had just brought out another 900S For silver. Instead of this.
What's the price difference on the 850 and 900? $150? |

Haha, just wait, that will be next season. They will also charge an extra 100 for the new color.
From what I saw, it looks like the 850 will be $900-1000 compared to the 900 at $1200- 1300. |

Hmmm.
If you didn't want to shell out as much money and wanted a set of cdj's that you could use with your DVS system, with the obvious ability to play cd's every now and again this might.. MAYBE be an option.
USB is handy. Lack of Linking does suck dick though. Big Girthy Dick.. |

| they are just flooding the market with product to increase sales. it isn't as if the manufacturing of these is so different from the others. |

| Sounds like Pioneer has that Denon disease going. Remember when Denon was spitting out players left and right. Now you only see like two players oppose to six. Personally I don't see a need for this model. After seeing the price difference, you're better off getting the 900's for what an extra $100. |

I would just pick up a pair of used 200's or something of that nature to use on a DVS. Or look on ebay and find used 800's or 1000's. ebay is flooded with them now. |

These don't look so bad honestly. People loved the 800's because of their lower cost while retaining the feel of the 1000's. The 900's are far too expensive and feature-laden to be considered a replacement for that model, so the 850's seem to be a more appropriate upgrade. The price difference alone ($4-600 cheaper than the 900's for a pair) justifies their existence. If you just think of them as 800's with rekordbox and USB ports then these decks are great.
I do think that this screws over the 900 quite a bit. It's previous best selling point was that it was the cheapest "professional" caliber player with rekordbox. Now that you can get that with the 850 why would you buy the 900? It does seem like poor strategy on the part of pioneer, but that's not a knock on the 850. If anything, the 900 is now the "pointless" CDJ. |

cdj-1000s aint broke so dont fix it...
Couldn't agree anymore. I still can't see the point of the 900's to be honest. 1000 Mk3's are a nifty piece of kit, the 2000's are something else but the 900 and these just seem like a waste of time to me, I didn't know they were out until this morning when I found them on decks.co.uk. |

dude, i don't understand this. what's the point of releasing all of these different models when they all cost ~1000 bucks? some skimp on features here and there, but .
i'm waiting for a decent pio cd deck for ~500 bucks that has the same platter cue system as an 800 or 1000 and .02 pitch. it'll never happen, but... a man can dream i suppose. |
