John Digweed - Structures Out Today (pg. 2)

What a wild ride this cd is... listened to disc 1 straight into disc 2. Melodic progressive tunes for most of the first disc then near the end the bumpiness begins. Disc two starts off with that amazing Nick Warren track and by the Digweed/Muir track (#4) this mix goes into high driven chugging Digwed mode. Love the surprising wind down at the end... closing the story so smoothly.

This cd is so well put together... perfect transitions... but it's to be expected. I predict this to be on heavy rotation just like Bedrock 11 was last year....

What's disappointing about it to you?
Schadenfreude
it just seems like he has done this cd before...i'm not calling it horrible, but grow or stop. yaknawhatimean?

a lot of the same as usual here imo.

prog tiesto.
Schadenfreude
not to mention that it is pretty much all of the same producers as usual:p

and no...i didn't buy it...i don't buy mix comps, it defeats the purpose of spending money for music.

2nd cd is soooooo boring...but since he "initialed" them (probably manager doing it) people will like it:p

omg sign my face!

hmm, there are like 3 okay tracks i got from it, tracks that I could use somewhere... Nothing phenomenal tho...

The Bedrock one in October was better imo.

I think the output is very good even though it is a label compilation.

However, since I am a huge Diggers fan, I believe he is at his best when playing material from other labels too (see his latest Essential Mix as a great example).

Not all the individual tracks stand out but he is trying to reach, as a label owner, the maximum number of listeners out there. That explains the variety of tracks on there.

There are still more interesting tracks on this release than on most compilations...

i have to agree that his essential mix was pure win...maybe too much so, because it makes this look a little silly.

by no means is it horrible...i just expect better i guess. too many expectations i suppose.

That Wiretappeur track and remix are so win though

great mix from what ive listened to

I have to agree with the ostrich man, havent really heard it but its the same style/artists he always uses. Diggers hasnt changed one bit (maybe going a little more techno) he is better live than anything

so many DJs are just in a loop, maybe im getting older or the music is just lacking these days
