I can't in get the damned ACTIONS to work!? :whip:

Constantly get the The command "whatever" is not currently availablep and then a what you want to do 'Continue' or 'Stop'

Had this for commands "Move" and "Set" so far (probably more!)

I'm just trying to set up some watermarking actions for photos.

I open the resized picture (750px X 500px), I have 3 psd files with transparency ready. I go to the main picture, record action, drag and drop the logo psd files onto the main picture, add layer styles, move everything to the desired location and end recording.

Looks like it works, then it I get those stupid command not available error.

I've tried not using styles and just moving, tried using gifs or pngs as the logo files, a bunch of things. I've tried getting ACTIONS to do something extremely simple like moving another pic into it... NOTHING.

Using APS CS4, on a PC, and yeah it's cracked or whatever with a patch file.

Anyone know how to, or assist me with running ACTIONS? I've been in around with this for the past 5 hours just trying to watermark some damned pics!

Thanks TOTA! :)

(Or better yet, save me TONS of time, and recommend and direct me to a good watermarking program that will just merge a picture and another picture with transparency together without looking like ass)

Sorry, I only use 5.0 ;)

There are tons of free watermarking apps out there... so much easier.

Not to do what I want... with the effects I want.

Pictureshark sucks
XAT seems complicated
Any other one I've found just didn't do what I want.

They are fine for simple text overlay watermarking, but nothing else with some design to it.

You do your logo the way you want it in photoshop, then get the app to add it.

stop touching yourself while you use the program and it should work fine

Yeah, I know that, it's just not as CLEAR as when you do it in APS, ie. when you take a vectored graphic and add the glow or shadow, it doesn't "spread" nicely when just added on.

It works fine for solid clean graphics, but I guess that is what I may have to do :(

AHA!!!

I GOT IT!!!

YEAH!!!

ACTIONS in photoshop recognizes shortcuts like drag and drop, but it won't record the drag and drop and actually requires you to start the record, open the image to be overlayed, then select all using marquee or whatever, then copy, switch image, paste, then resize or move whatever, add layers, etc...

THEN stop recording and it will work.

So... what did we learn here, ACTIONS will not record drag and drops, you must start recording before you open the source of the watermark, you cannot have it open already, and break you actions down into smaller parts to ease the automation.

WORKS!

Don't try to be all noble and ... like you don't have a single thing on your PC/MAC that is not pirated... programs, movies, music...
