Avatar Theme whaaat?!?!?!! More in a minute… first read this…
Cosmic Gate are the reason a lot of us started listening to EDM in the first place. Their 2000 hit ‘Exploration of Space’ took the sound from ‘Sandstorm’ and made it good. Made it epic. Made it trance.*sigh* Great memories. And the best part about the great memories of Cosmic Gate??? They’re creating fresh ones every single day. If 2000 marked the release of Exploration, and 2009 was their busiest year to date, what does that tell you? Their 2009 ‘Sign of the Times’ album required release parties for multiple cities on nearly every continent. It was that huge.
2010 is shaping up to be just as busy as last year. With a compilation and 2 tracks already out, CG has been touring, touring and you guessed it, touring. Oh, did we mention that one of those tracks was the remix of the Avatar Theme?

couldve used that on more poison for the possibility of achieving a better vibe from some of the same old, same olds. i.e man on the run, not enough time...s is played out. where was all the fresh dark stuff they usually dig up? found some treasure with hym 2.0 but that was about it. maybe it was the excessive patio breaks? which was pretty cool till it rained.
with exception to the revamped EOS (btw saw a random boars head turkey shaped balled guy losing his marbles in the dj booth when they dropped this haha. wonder who that foo couldve been;)) their sound choices for the most part were all kinda boring. barra, avatar theme and bunch of vocal tracks i would of prefered listening to with a shot of nyquil.
this was my second time at fur and although i was once again blown away with the venue layout of the main room, i still cant get over the ghetto-ness of this place. everytime we walked past the hiphop room to take a piss or get to the patio, there would be 10-20 wocka flocka looking hoodrats posted up in the crowded area trying to pick-pocket or straight up rob you. someone outside was even trying to sell someones phone back after they had pick pocketed them. although it was nice of the robber to try and sell the phone back to the owner instead of trying to sell it on craigslist like they would in new york.. |
