I personally believe that if you do it underground for long enough, establish that you have mad skills, then you ing deserve to sell out and get your MONSTROUS pay day. I mean ...

are these guys supposed to not max out their earning potential just because some prima donna music snobs might get offended? get over yourselves.

i used to think like you until I realized that being a hater is not the way to go. If a song makes someone, anyone, happy. makes them shout out the sunroof and smile like CHEEEEESSEE!! then who are we to say it's crap.

ska and punk fans are worse than TAs by far, though. EDM as a whole is a sell out. what u think of THAT. i think i might go back to ska

And another thing... The Black Eyed Peas deserve every dollar they make. They make people happy and have already established that they are nasty MCs. Now they get paid

I think selling out should be based on what kind of music you make. For example, if Armin Van Buuren made his A State Of Trance show downloadable by $50 subscription only, and started making hip hop with T-Pain and Akon, you could say he's sold out.

It was only a matter of time that he too would come out with something tacky.

Anyways, who cares. I am not really sure if there is a big audience for dj video games.

I like alot of dj's and I like alot of video games - but something about the 2 just don't mix.

edit - and I wouldn't buy a video game just because someone I really liked was on it - if I did really like Armin. I just can't imagine myself buying like a stoneface and terminal video game. Love the guys - but wii is more for drunken fun times.

lets be real. dj hero was a flop because there was no real mixing of any kind. if this new game offers looping and real mixing, it gives non edm listeners the opportunity to appreciate what electronic music really is. it may also spark interest of edm into a younger audience, and you never know this might inspire some people to even buy real tables or usb midi controllers. if the game takes off, more people will want to learn about production software like ableton and maybe people will hop off the soulja boy frooty loops train.

I don't think this video game for Wii can be considered selling out. first of all, it's for the Wii. I mean come on! I'm pretty sure this game is only for kids and no one else. Would anyone over 13 be caught dead playing this game? And did you watch any trailers or videos of the gameplay? It looks like garbage anyway...

Let us never speak of this again

I think it's kinda funny the mentality people have on these forums sometimes:toothless

At this point if I were a dj I would hate to ever become #1 dj in the world cuz then you automatically become a sell out...:haha:
