I would say his works that encompass 4-5 pieces and last an hour would be pretty much the same as todays album. In definition.

He also released opus numbers with various unrelated pieces as well. Which I would say is pretty much the modern album.

Albums are stupid. 99.99% of the time they have filler.

What the hell kind of albums are you listening to?

The definition of an album is a set of musical numbers of varying quality that are designed to lure in the consumer with popular works so that the artist can sell more songs than they could individually.

No.

i have embarked on creating an album today, im not sure how where it will take me. i've done a track today and my main goal is to convey something special from my soul, and try to be unique... Im really excited and for-see an exhausting future for it. there will definetly be a progress and a message and it will not be just a collection of tracks. regardless of what comes out, im trying to make it pure to my mind if that makes any sense. im not concerned that djs wont be playing the tracks although ill try to have two or three ones i would include in my own sets.

Good luck, MSZ. Definitely looking forward to hearing it.

ill post snippets of the finished album in the MPP via one youtube video when im done, although im not sure when thats going to be, im aiming for one hours length, and ill think about a mixed version in addition. although that will probably be an additional step to conquer because im very selective about my set programming so i dont know about that.(but then again, flow is somthing i want in the album so i might re-think that) in regards to your superstition , i will take a look at it tomorrow.

Hopefully it sounds like it was mixed by an 18 year-old. ;)

Honestly, I was kind of influenced by some of your production mixing. I probably didn't get it as loud but I was still trying to get that flavor you've got.
MSZ
oh man, if you want influence in space and mixing.

be sure to check out NDI/Timewave's album releasing november 15th titled "Solar System". such talent in this tranceaddict, im almost done listening to the album now and its pretty incredible, i will purchase a CD-R when its available. REALLY good work ndi, top-notch. your sounds are big, and i think you conveyed your album quite nicely given the names you have chosen, and your tracks progressed wonderfully, getting better and better throughout.

I can't even remember the last time I did. I think it was some kind of ambient album. In that respect, it was more like background music and I didn't make any meaningful connection between each work.

I do not really see the point of putting an album together.

How did you guys select the songs for your album? Did you guys go like "hey let's make 20 songs, but only use 7 of them because they're the best ones."
Kenny Rogers
i have never made an album but i wouldnt "select" tracks. i would make them with the idea of the album in the back of my head, like one big "composition". and then maybe make singles out of them afterwards.

Only real album was a punk rock album when I was in a band with my brother. We broke up before we were signed but it was still cool to visit Fat Records and discuss a contract which if anyone was into punk was a pretty good deal in the mid 90's. Me and my brother cannot be in the same room together. He is equally talented and doesn't sugger from anxiety so he can just jump on any instrument and not feel that pressure but does not have that OCD aspegers component that makes me do things for really long amounts of time like practice.
Mise
wow men just googled for asperger, in witch way does it manifest on you?
